Aaaaand w're road-worthy again!!! Got front diff, crossmember, and CV axles installed this morning. My initial thoughts, hopefully to-be-addressed in a revised tune once I can data log next week:

- somewhat rough idle when coming to a stop after driving (not an issue when I just had it idling in garage a few times after buttoning up the motor);
- hesitation upon initial take off. Idk if this is the new cam itself or tuning, but it feels like you have to give it some gas to get going;
- transmission is clunky when coming to a stop from say, 3rd->1st. The trans has always been kinda 'dumb' IMO but I wonder if the firmer shift points are accentuating the general sloppiness of the trans itself.

After actually driving around for a bit to log some data the muffler that was in the exhaust system was deemed too small.

It was hilariously loud and fun, but I decided to throw the large AP Racing SS muffler back in. (Same thing as a Magnaflow). It's more tame and doesn't bark nearly as much. The other nice thing is the lack of drone. I suspect the shape of that 3rd cat was causing some weird harmonics in the past.

Cruising at 55mph on relatively flat roads showed 22.5mpg.

Does it surge as you come to a stop, and keep revving at a standstill?

Test fit the '15-'20 skidplate.. one hole needs slotted and one corner needs flattened and hole drilled.. Fits like a glove!

Oh he just lowered his price! I paid $134, now he has a couple left at $121.
Other sellers seemed more expensive so idk if there's cheaper, but plenty to be found.

GM part # 23135960
Ordered!

I spent an hour wrapping the aluminum intake tube with some fancy gold-colored aluminum tape. I'm curious if it'll help any of those under hood temps....can't hurt.

I also relocated my oil catch can down to the accessory bracket. Had to make a little bracket, and one of the bolts snapped off as I was tightening it, but it's solid. I need to button a couple things up, but had to run to an open house. We're putting in an offer, so fingers crossed.

Driving more yesterday and today, the downshifting is super clunky and rough - to the point I will prbly have them revert the trans tuning to my prior stock file. The cam is not significantly different than the OEM one so really no need for the trans to be tuned to start with.

As for your comment here if that's not helpful, ha, I wouldn't say it surges it's just clunky and slow to downshift. I think the idle needs another ~50 rpm into it or so. Perhaps that would address the hesitation upon take-off too. Are you getting at something else potentially that I should keep in mind / think through?
