So looking at replacing my motor mounts. I see the the OEM mounts are hydraulic. Is there a replacement that isn’t hydraulic that works/last longer than the OEM? Always seems silly to me to just put the same part that already failed early, right back on. Thinking a non hydraulic mount may be better???

What does the forum think?

From my reading here, the hydraulic filled do have a shorter life, but do their job in smoothing out vibrations. There seem to be fans of solid rubber aftermarket as well as the $300 each hummer solid mount for the 5.3.
I'm here too. At 156k, I think it's on its second pair of mounts. Slight vibration at idle, I really want to smooth it out but don't wanna do the job again in 7 years or whatever.
But I won't be able to live with that vibration either.

We are same same. I want to do it once and have it function properly. Seen it done on a few videos and looks like a giant PIA, but I’m willing to suffer for a few days to have a smooth idling motor.

Yeah, I just hope that's it!
There are a few different ways to do them. Basically you have to choose between access and taking extra stuff off. I like to remove as little as possible functional parts. Are you gonna do the tranny mount too?

Oh holy crap, you have a K2, I thought you had a gmt800!
Idk if the hummer mount works for you.

I’m in the beginning stages of trying to figure out what to do. May do tranny mounts if they are not a big PIA.

If a K2 is 2015-2020 Suburban, then that is what I have. Not quite up on all the codes y’all are using for these vehicles. Out of about 20 vehicles, this is my 2nd GM vehicle.

Yeah, K2 is your platform.

Here's a list because I'm a nerd:
GMT400=OBS=Old body style=1990-1999
GMT800=NBS=New body style=2000-2006
GMT900=NNBS=New new body style=2007-2014
K2=2015-2020
T1=2021 and up

The pickups vary by about a year, usually being released before the SUV. There are also many special editions that run concurrent for a special year on the old platform, eg 2000 Yukon Denali.

Wow, that's a lot of vehicles. Do you have a specific brand loyalty? (Fingers crossed for Chevy)

Use Hummer H3 motor mounts, and you'll never replace them again. That's what a number of us have done on this Forum. And, I did not notice any increase in vibration at idle (the supposed value of hydraulic fluid filled OEM motor mounts).

Thanks for posting that info.

No brand loyalty, but I’ve had the most luck with Toyotas. My 06 C6 Corvette was my first GM product. I did not have a good experience. Hoping this time will be good. I’m trying my best to give it the best chance. I want to address all the known issues. I had an Excursion and sold it last year. Bought a Ram 2500 5.7 Hemi and after a year decided that a large SUV works better for my needs. Ran across this one and it’s pretty mint for having 118k miles. Hoping to get 10+ more years out of it.

Yeah, I’m liking the H3 Hummer mounts.

There are lots of stories w/C6. Of which I do not wish to relive. All super frustrating unnecessary electrical bullsh*t.

Careful… some of the folks here might try to talk you into a rare K2 Suburban 3500 HD.

I have the poly mounts made by Atomic Fabrication in my truck. You will feel the vibes when you are in drive at a light with your foot on the brake. Otherwise no vibes. Throttle response was def improved because the poly are less forgiving. I also went with the 1/2" lower ones to drop that center of gravity a bit.

I have replaced a few of the motor mounts on these 07-2013 bodies. The last one I did was done at the same time as replacing the driver side Exhaust manifold bolts, gaskets and removing a broken bolt. With the exhaust off the driver side motor mount was a piece of cake but as you know, pulling the exhaust manifold off is not any fun. I have trusted Anchor Doan, they built motor mounts as a major supplier for 40+ years but I bet today they are all made in China as are many of our aftermarket parts.

VERY GOOD QUESTION, @OBSandaNNBS !! GREAT catch!

The H3 motor mounts will ONLY fit LS motors and NOT LT motors.

And, the OP's motor for the 2019 model year is most likely an LT motor.

@Marky Dissod @Cut Wagon
Thanks for clarifying!
I confused him with a gmt900 owner with a similar username.

@Cut Wagon sorry I trashed your thread.

Fellas, who are the resident K2 experts we can tag to help OP with his original question?
