Remember when I said I replaced my tail light wire harness? I used my icon magnetic light to see, now guess what I can't find...luckily it was where I left it....

Thank god it has a good magnet because my wife took the Denali into town:eek::eek::eek::eek:
Happens to the best of us. Just be glad it's not hanging out with the 10 mm sockets.

I did that once, leaving my flashlight inside a door panel. Thankfully it was getting dark out and we could see the light shining through parts of the panel. Had to pull it back off to rescue it. No bonus 10mm sockets, though.

Replaced the frozen/rusted spare tire hoist...did some wire wheel rust scraping and then hit it with some rattle can spray....(04 Yukon)
on my spare tire hoist i took it to the bench grinder and took off that locking tab that prevents the cable from lowering unless you push it in. did that probably 6 years ago it goes up and down without an issue

Same. That was stopping me from dropping mine. I fought with it for hours, until I was able to drop the entire hoist with spare still attached.

I had someone come look at my Yukon for sale yesterday. Dude wanted to know if it had any leaks, I told him no, as the oil dipstick was still full, with oil still looking new after 4K miles. He crawled underneath and told me "mucho leak, mucho leak!!!"..... I was shocked, I went down there are saw seepage around the oil pan. I tried to explain that was seepage, but apparently some people don't know or understand the difference. :/

I wonder what year they started that locking tab. On the 99 Silverado that my son had, there was no locking tab. On my 2001 Suburban, there's no locking tab. But I know on every 04-06 NBS truck and SUV that I've seen, there was a locking tab. So I'm guessing they probably started around 2003 or so?

Well, to be honest, seepage is still a leak. Just not a bad leak. If the oil pan gasket is keeping you from a sale, then maybe go ahead and replace it. If it's a 2wd, it's a really easy job. On a 4wd, it's a lot more involved. If you have a 2wd, I'd just go ahead and replace it. If it's a 4wd, maybe clean it pretty good and hope VERY little seepage occurs before you sell it.

I'm used to 70s/80s trucks and I've seen heavy seepage, this is really small and not even creating a loss. The oil is full and clear after 4000 miles and there aren't any drops on the ground. This guy that saw it yesterday was just unrealistic.

I think the Yukon will find a deserving owner just the way it is. It is a highly original vehicle that was owned by an Air Force base for the first 20 years or so.

Today was a day of cleaning and shining my 24 year old Tahoe on its anniversary. I purchased my Tahoe 24 years ago this week on July 13, 2001 from Casey Chevrolet in Newport News, VA. My Tahoe is our trip vehicle and has been a great vehicle on the highway, it loves to do 80. The color is Forest Green with the a tan cloth interior that are in excellent shape. It is parked in my garage every night along side my 1970 Monte Carlo that is Tourquoise with a black vinyl top that I have owned for over 50 years.

Happens to the best of us. Just be glad it's not hanging out with the 10 mm sockets.
When I did my V6 to V8 swap, I found a 10 mm socket and a 10 mm ratcheting wrench on the engine removable crossmember. No idea who dropped them over the years I owned it? I think the wrench didn't even work so I tossed it. I kept the socket. I felt so lucky, I wanted to play the lottery that day, then I remembered I never win anything. SMH

I found a seized up ratcheting wrench, I just sprayed a bunch of WD in it, banged it a few times and it worked like a charm. Free tool for me.
