Thanks for all the advice and tips for troubleshooting!
I took @dkad260 advice to check the tire size. I assumed all my tires were the same when I bought them, and the problem area is in the right rear. I started to check the diameter of all tires and noticed the right rear was the wrong size! They all should have been 285/75/17 but the right rear is 265/70/17!

So, back at the tire shop now to get this fixed. HOPEFULLY this might clear the stabilitrack/abs error. If not, at least this variable will be thrown out

I did drive a couple of hundred miles before I realized the tire difference, all in the 2wd selector for the t-case. So, I am wondering how much damage or extra wear the two different tire sizes may have caused on my rear axel and bearings, and any negative impacts to the trac-rite LSD.

Any ideas/tips on what to watch for on the rear axle, or what I should examine? Seems to drive home fine without any new sounds besides the new tires, but I only drove about two miles.

Meh … negligible…. Same as putting diff size tires or differing tread depths on an awd …. A few hundred miles means nothing…. 5-10k id say maybe so extra wear but more than anything you may hear a weird ‘hum’
You’re good

Cool. I was thinking I am probably OK here too. But after this incident, it's got my mind rolling, "What else, now?!"

@Doubeleive what nerf bars do you have on your Silverado?
Magnum RT (1st gen) and...beware assembly is about 50 bolts (per side) lol
the trick to installing these or anything similar is only lightly tighten any required bolts before attaching because there is always going to be a fitment variable thats going to require you being able to wiggle it one way or another. people do not understand this and expect perfect fitment the 1st time around.

the gen2 look like they stick out farther and I wouldn't want that myself I am tall and tend to hit my shins on just about anything that sticks out, glass tables at night are the worst.

I am SO with you on the glass top tables! I have them too, and I have the shin and knee scars to prove it.

I have been around them enough to know I won't buy one, even though they do look nice, some look real nice but...... the pain....
me and my wife were talking about this to my son who is 13 and quickly catching up to my height and we told him, no glass tables lol, keep the cupboards shut

Usually this shop has treated me right with no issues, so I'll call this a one-off. The manager met me and was apologetic, and also to let him know if the error did not clear, so he was trying to take care of me. But, I will be checking things more thoroughly the next time I use them.

I ALWAYS double check my vehicles after having anyone work on them unless I was right there already, even then a small tire difference could have been easily overlooked, but I have found tools, loose bolts, unclipped connectors, you name it over the years.
even a fluid change, I check the levels and make sure everything is copasetic.
hell one time (decades ago) I went thru one of those quick oil change places, pulled around the drive and got out for whatever reason (probably to check it) and saw a line of wet oil where I had driven and sure enough they f-kd that up somehow I was lucky I caught it. never have been back to one of those again.

I agree with @PG01 that it should not be a big deal since it was on the rear axle and not a full-time AWD drive train, and only driven a couple hundred miles.

However I would make a point to the manager of the miles driven and the fact the difference was more than subtle.

I don't know what tires you have but a quick search on Tire Rack with your sizes listed, I created a search using staggered tires.

Pick a tire, then scroll down to the "specs" tab. It will list both tires at the same time, and they all seem to be aboutt a 40 RPM (revs per mile) difference per mile...that's quite a bit.

I don't want you to worry too much about it, as it likely didnt caise any harm. ..but something to point out if you have a LSD and not an open diff like the G80. I don't even know what it would do long term if anything...maybe work the clutches a bit, they might even change the diff fluid for you if you bring it up. I would want to see inside the diff when they did and look at the fluid.
