I have a 2017 Yukon Denali 4WD. I need two front ABS Sensors and on the dash I have a service TPMS light on. However inside the OnStar app it says service ABS. Is that only showing up in the OnStar app because it can’t read 2 tire sensors air or do I actually have two issues. So far I have no ABS light on the dash which is making me thing it’s just OnStar has no service TPMS so it’s throwing another flag.

I believe that for your model year, ABS and tire pressure monitoring are both done with the wheel speed sensors. If I am correct, then a failed wheel speed sensor could generate both warnings.

Other members of this Forum much more knowledgeable than me in this area and model year will chime in.

I actually was thinking this also but wasn’t 100% positive. Just found it off the ABS on the dash isn’t on.

If the tire pressure is displayed on a dash display in PSI, it uses TPMS sensors, my 2005 and 2024. I would be surprised if GM fell back to a ABS/Wheel Sensor TPMS not many manufacturers are using this system anymore. Also TPMS sensor batteries last about 8-10 years at tops. An easy way to determine if the vehicle has TPMS wheel sensors is look at the valve stems, if they are standard rubber then the vehicle does not likely have TPMS sensors, but if here is a hex nut and longer collar on the valve stem, it probably has TMPS sensors. Also check for parts applications and how to reset the TPMS sensor system in the owners or service info.
