I replaced the OE Magneride suspension on my wife's 2015 Yukon Denali XL with Arnott in May of 2024. The fronts have already failed at only 13k miles. Driver side has collapsed 2" and now the tire rubs when turning and passenger side is seeping fluid.....I own a European repair shop and have used Arnott for years for air ride on all sorts of Mercedes and Land Rovers but we have had nothing but issues with them the last couple years (and oddly enough they have now shortened their warranty period!).

I am not putting Arnott back on it and Magdelete is sold out of the Bilstein struts. Has anyone run the economy kit from Magdelete with some honest feedback? I am NOT looking to put OEM magneride back on this truck after the issues I have run into. Other brands to consider? Need to get something ordered in the next couple days.

Like you I’ve had Arnott for years and like them. Your original shocks lasted 8 years and X amount of miles. You can get OEM shocks from gmpartsdirct or other vendors.

While I understand your reluctance I can tell you that my experience with passive shocks and resistors was so bad I switched back to OEM.

Being a professional auto tech you know more than most of us that your car’s systems are meant to work together for ride quality and more importantly safety.

It’s just my 2 cents worth. Others have had good experiences with passive setups and will give you their suggestions.

I too attempted to use Arnott’s rear shocks on my old ‘15 Yukon XL Denali and they never rode right cause the air like connector never completely connected to the OEM air line. Because of that my rear air compressor pump burned out.

Removed the Arnott shocks and replaced with OEM at the same time I replaced the rear suspension air compressor with a new OEM unit.

Having to purchase a second set of rear shocks prematurely due to the Arnott issue AND replace the OEM rear air compressor cost me. But lesson learned when I should have went OEM rear shocks in the first place.

OP, what did you end up purchasing? would love your feedback on what you settled with. I got the Arnotts a month ago, and will be switching the springs back to OEM, and keeping the Arnott shocks, since they are working OK, but the springs are a bit stiff (probably because they gave a 2 inch lift up front on my 16 XL)

@mrkev. The stock springs will bring the front back down and will most likely ride pretty well. Those springs are hard as heck so you’ll get a much better ride.

I'm on my 3rd week with Strutmasters rear magneride shocks. I purchased a 3 year warranty to hedge my bets and the price was still less than 1/3 for OEM parts. The ride is greatly improved. Will see how that goes.

@Big Mama confimred. the Arnot springs are physically thicker than OEM. i swapped back my old ones and the ride quality is much better. the car no longer hops over speed bumps. the Arnott springs included in the Arnott quickstrut is garbage for the yukonxl.

I measured before and after. from wheel arch to mid fender, it was 6 inches with arnott springs. with OEM back on it's holding stead at 5.5 inches. (20 in rims)

I'm pleased that you came to the same conclusion that @Big Mama and I did.

I can also tell you that the original springs do get shorter over time through normal wear and tear -> metal fatigue. When I converted back to the OEM suspension (Electronic Suspension in my case, the forerunner to Magneride), my truck sat 1/2" higher after replacing the springs.
