Looking to buy a Tahoe in 2025. I’m currently leaning toward the Z71, but it doesn’t come with Super Cruise. If Super Cruise has significantly improved in 2025, I might consider a trim that offers it.

Any Super Cruise users who can share their experience using it?

I have never experienced it yet, but other friends and family members that have it say it is a real game changer on long trips. My incoming vehicle does have it, and I get three free years to figure out if it's worth it or not. As a rule, I have always been a hands-on driver, and it doesn't really fatigue or bother me. It will be interesting on day long trips etc. whether this truly is that helpful or not. I've got trust issues, and I am going to have to see if this thing handles things properly in all conditions before I would fully trust it.

I was considering trading in the Tahoe for a Denali just so I could get supercruise. My buddy just bought a '25 Denali with it ahead of a 14hr road trip. He called me up midway on Saturday and said it was amazing (even while towing a trailer) and he'd never go without it again.

I have a Tesla with FSD and would agree that especially on the highway, it reduces so much driving fatigue. Not sure how the two systems compare, but I'm a tech junkie and would definitely want SC on my vehicle.

We didn’t even consider it based on cost. I was focused on the first digit of the vehicle price. Would have sent that into matching Gordie Howe’s sweater. I still drive a manual car and would have gotten a manual Tahoe if such a thing existed

I currently only have 900 miles on my 2025 Yukon Elevation but I can tell you after using my Super Cruise for about 150 of those miles it is fantastic. I will be leaving soon on a 2000 mile trip and will be using it wherever I can. Amazing how the camera on the steering column watches your face to make sure you are paying attention. I was on super cruise one day and reached over to grab my drink from the console and while drinking covered my face and the super cruise immediately disconnected! There is a learning curve for sure.

Super Cruise is sorta like riding in a Waymo car, it drives the vehicle hands free. The vehicle must have adaptive cruise enabled and then you push a button on the steering wheel and the super cruise takes over. It has a forward facing camera to keep the vehicle right dead center in your lane. If the vehicle approaches a slower car in front it will automatically slow down and if you want to pass it you just quickly flip the turn signal lever to the direction you want to pass and release it, super cruise will change lanes (using the side cameras) when safe and maintain the current cruise speed already set. If the steering wheel column camera detects you are not paying attention it will disconnect the super cruise and start slowing down immediately. I have driven 50-60 miles and never touched the steering wheel. It truly is an amazing feature, but you still need to be alert. It only works where there are lane stripes on both sides like on freeways, also it will not engage on city streets.
You can always take control of the steering wheel at any time. There are led lights built into the top of the steering wheel, green for all good and on super cruise, blue for you
over riding the super cruise (manual steering) and flashing red for super cruise has disconnected and slowing down.

Not a chance I would own one.

Well considering the lane assist/keeping technology in my 2024 Yukon SLT is basically useless, I’d want super cruise. All mine does is bounce you from each side of the lane to the other. It’s not a true lane centering like what Ford has.

How does low/high tire air pressure, alignment, steering/suspension problems effect Super Cruise?

I haven’t seen tire pressure affect it but alignment is pretty important. It’s also pretty important that the steering angle sensor is reset after an alignment.

We have the Super Cruise on our 21 Escalade, LOVE it! We visit my wives mother several times a year, 600+ miles one way. I use the SC 90% of the way, makes the trip a lot less fatiguing. On or last trip the Escalade was down waiting on a Coolant Control Valve, had to drive the wives Mercedes, really missed the SC. Would not get another vehicle without it. A friend had the Ford Blue Cruise, he just got a new Escalade and said the SC is superior to the Blue Cruise.

In my experience, owning a 2033 Denali equipped with Super Cruise has been an immensely rewarding experience. Initially, I encountered some apprehension, but with time and practice, I have developed a deep appreciation for its capabilities. Super Cruise demands respect, as it operates flawlessly and consistently exceeds my expectations. While it took me some time to fully trust its functionality, I now effortlessly navigate its usage, even on the interstate highway in Atlanta. The automatic lane change feature is an additional significant advantage. In my opinion, if all vehicles on the roadways were equipped with autonomous driving capabilities, road rage would significantly diminish, and accidents would occur at a substantially reduced rate.

Therefore, I strongly recommend investing in this technology. As time progresses, vehicles will increasingly require less human intervention in their operation.

I rarely used it. The vehicle drove too slowly.
