I've seen some updated info on the 2020+ 6.2 L engines
that says it's not really just an oil issue. It's just bad parts and engineering
on the bearing clearances. The oil thing is just a band aid..
AND the recommended oil change intervals are bullsh!t... they always have been
NO way I'm ever going to go 7500 miles on an oil change in ANYTHING I own !!!
IDC if the oil is pure gold and it's one of those 10K mile filters.. IT's just a stupid
idea .... it's "engine abuse" to me. Oil changes are f'n Cheap !

if that video is correct and they arw extending the warranty to 150k miles, you might just be getting a good deal since there's basically there's no way the 10speed tranny and dfm lifters will last 150k anyways. so even if it's a bandaid, you'll end up with a new engine at some point anyways?

Watch the video again. This extended warranty only applies to the lower half of the engine.

I know it's been asked already, but do you think a change to 0W40 before the Pico test will affect the test results?
Maybe? Emphasis on the question mark?

More important question is:
will changing to 0W40 before the Pico test get my engine to or past 200,000 miles?

not with dfm. all 16 afm/dfm lifters? I wouldn't bet any money on it.

if that lake speed guys is right, sounds like a tranny tune to move the shift points up so that it doesn't lug the engine around at 600rpm all the time would help with rod loading more than oil changing?

I personally trust what Lake Speed Jr. says.
He doesn't guess.

yeah I mean it sounds reasonable but there's also other guys taking these locked up engines apart and finding wrist pins broken, not locked up rod bearings.

so I always leave a bit of room for anyone to be wrong.

has anyone seen any tear down videos of these engines with bad rod bearings?

tear down vid I saw

I did find this one just now. newer upload but says 95k miles. so not sure if that is really what's caused the recall. gm wouldn't really be forced to recall of they lasted 90k before locking up. but still interesting.

07 Yukon Denali w/stock 6.2L L92.
In 2022 & 23, from 174k miles to 190k miles, I ran 0w-20 in my ole L92 without issue. I'm tempted to run 0w-16 in it for a couple of yrs :), but I already have oil purchased for its next change.
