No one is burning oil between oil changes. If you are in a measurable way something is wrong.

You guys seem to have this 'idea' that tech sucks regardless of what it is because the gubment. Every single thread in this forums that despises technology has to do with either a BS conspiracy or the gubment (dont even mention how its 95% folks who have never owned the things they are talking about) Its honestly exhausting.

Pretend I agree with you and move it along. Forums have always been a place for people to get real life info and solutions. Now its just conspiracy. Its ridiculous.

Lifters have been dropping in gm vehicles for a long time before afm/dfm. Transmissions have been failing before the 8speed. Electronics have been failing before touchscreen. I literally paid for my college and my first few houses because of GM warranty work. But yeah the new stuff is the problem.

In the words of Charlie Brown, "Good grief!".

Who are you "you guys"-ing? What conspiracies?

My first and subsequent posts in this thread were in support of electric. Not sure how much more techy and/or overwatchy you can get...the problem isn't with tech, it's with specific systems.

The tech works and gets results.

Its that simple. If you dont like it there's a button. Literally as good as it gets. Maybe they could make the button have memory so you dont need to press it every time.

I see. This isn't about how things work. But 'oversight'. Nice word choice guys. Let's keep fighting science.

The systems are designed for it. Its not grandpas car with no other improvements running it. Oil pressure ? Doesn't drop to zero when it was just on then off. It has to bleed off. It doesnt. The electrical system is designed to sustain it and maintain charge. There's algorithms it doesn't always auto stop unless all parameters are met.

I get that you dont like it. Thats all you gotta say but dont make up bullet points that are easily disproven.

Thankfully we all have a choice.

I don't want to get in a pissing match.....but common sense says that something in motion is probably happier in motion (science). Not being forced to hit the brakes and then go back to operating. You can't make or destroy matter, and energy purely changes states (also science)......so NO, A.S.S. doesn't actually SAVE anything, it merely robs Peter to pay Paul.

Yes, oil pressure does drop off pretty quickly. Think of the toasted motors talked about on here with loss of oil pressure (21 + 6.2L). How long is your average stoplight? There's NO residual pressure left by the time it turns green again......maybe a smidgen if you're a stop sign roller.

Also, yes, if you listen to your vehicle you will learn the "criteria " of when it will activate or not (done it countless times with loaners and rentals), but you have to actively try to NOT make it work - it's bound and determined to save the last drop to any/all detriments.

"OK" the systems are designed for it......sure, but only as long as the mfg needs it to be for warranty and CAFE requirements/credits. Why purposely put more strain on the ENTIRE system to save a thimble of fuel? Makes no sense, except to beurocrats and bean counters. People with mechanical common sense will see otherwise.

And to your point: I don't like it, I think it's a pitiful waste of engineering knowledge and execution.

Blue hair huh ? There it is folks.

I love how all this is based on what you feel and not what you know.
No, there's just commonalities for people who drive many thousands of miles a year with a bunch of other people, many of whom are ignorant of how cars work, are awful drivers, or meet one of many stereotypes: one being the blue haired driver.

BTW: you don't have to drive a pruis to qualify.......you can drive a AMC Pacer, Lincoln town car, any cadillac sedan, most Buicks, a Mercedes, BMW, or just about anything you can still get in and operate that your "younger" generation hasn't saved you from in your older age.

To sum it all up, don't get so butt-hurt.....if you love it, and think SCIENCE supports it, then good for you. If you can't handle common consensus of the "masses", then bow out and keep snide remarks to yourself. You're grasping at straws buddy......

I respect your effort, but I don't think you'll ever ********* his echo chamber.

Grasping at straws when the science and engineering prove my point ? Ok sport.

80% of the respondents to this post don't even have experience with this. Its amusing.

Since we have cleared up what blue hair means we should come up with a term for old heads who hate technology and who believe in conspiracies.

I guess we cracked the code tho. For many it works, for some they turn it off. For the tech averse its scary and needs to be killed. Got it. Thanks for the 2cents.

I think it's stupid too. Yes fuel injection won as it should have. It's a performance upgrade in typical daily drivers of today. I don't see where ass is gonna help performance. Mileage, maybe. I also hate tire pressure sensors but guess we're stuck with that too

I think the tire pressure sensors are one of the most useful features.

I just want to know, how do you know what we have experience with?
Because of your posts. And I'd imagine when you or others bash the newest model you wouldn't be caught dead in one.

I hate apple so I have android. Get it?

In other words, you are making assumptions based on your preconceived ideas of how we arrived at our opinions, without really attempting to understand why we got here.

That's just a weak MO my guy. On a forum or in life.

Seek first to understand. Always assume the other person has some you can learn.

I'm trying to strike a more cordial tone, to help you see why we are here, but you seem like you already know.
