I really don't get how this is misunderstood...I wouldn't bother arguing about the newer tech. It seems on this forum, people who don't even have one of this generation truck will comment about them. If you don't like the technology on our newer trucks fine, some of us have no problem with it. Start Stop has been around quite a while. It saves fuel and less pollution. I barely notice it on my 2021 Suburban.
I wouldn't tell you what to do with your own truck. ASS clearly saves fuel, and if you want it on your new truck, all the power to you. Not everyone does, but they are shoehorned into the negatives with no option. THAT is the rub, see?
Negatives being potential issues due to the huge multiplier on engine starts (these can be debated and you can turn it off at least) and R&D costs which you must pay in the MSRP...
I really think we should either put up or shut up. Either deal with the negatives, IE 10% worse economy, of a solid ICE, or put those R&D dollars into better electric/hybrids. Why are we screwing around with these fancy dancy in-betweenies? If pollution is such a big deal, aren't electrics or hybrids better?
Does this make sense or not?
