I am not proud to say that I dropped an air cleaner housing cover bolt into my engine bay.
I heard it click and stay put, not making it to the floor.
Chased every nook and cranny (except the one it landed in) with a magnet, blew air everywhere and I cannot get it back.
Anyone have a the part number for this thing?
I can't seem to come up with one at any of the parts sites and have seen a few variations.
Thanks.

you are fretting over a non-critical part, take one of the other ones with you to the hardware store and find one that matches it.
save yourself a whole bunch of hassle.
in a effort to perhaps find the one that dropped drive forward a few feet and slam on the brakes, then go look where you drove/braked

Dealer parts counter has produced two bolts that are not the same.
Dealer parts counter showed me one with a torx head, while the other 3 have a phillips/hex combo.
I'd rather not have to change bits when getting at the air filter.

thanks for the responses so far.

:yaoface2: worried about changing a bit for something that is done basically never but would only take 1 second of time yet will spend hours and hours searching for anything to avoid ever doing it lol
for christ sake if they have different bolts that fit with a different bit head then buy 4 and let the ocd chill

Buddy, the only chill that is in order is your triggered reaction to this topic. Relax, it's an internet forum for exchanging information.

I guess I just have a different perspective I used to have to go to the hardware store pretty much daily to keep a business in business...
trying to get a single overpriced and often unavailable separately part from the dealer is often a useless endeavor.
"most" bolts are either metric or standard and either fine or coarse thread, once you have that memorized it's a breeze to find what you need.
then it just boils down to grade of bolt

My go-to air cover replacement bolts are pole barn screws. Look 'em up - comes complete with washer and gasket. A strong solid replacement fastener. And I'm right there with you! I fret every time i loosen these things!

I did the same thing, and those bolts are an odd ball deal too. I finally took the inner fender off and the little bolt was in the front right near the fog light in a little pocket. If you do this pay close attention to where the screws go in the inner fender. I'll never, ever, drop that bolt again.

And it's not the bolt, it's the principle of the thing.

I had the liner off the truck when it happened.
I looked in the pockets by the fog lights too.
I’m telling you, it dissolved.

I also have done it, try these on Amazon, direct fit.
yes they are. same threads, same shoulder under the head, and the same head diameter!
now I have some spares so I can freely add to my cache in the engine bay.
appreciate the help, gentlemen.
