You actually just changed the boot? I heard they're not fun to put on. Wouldn't it had been easier to just swap in another axle? I know the boot way is cheaper tho. Just curious.

It was a little tricky because my hands were covered in grease, but it took about 2 minutes to get the new boot on, and both bands cinched up with the band pliers. Definitely better to replace the boot than pay extra for a new axle.

Sounds like replacement boots have come a long way since I worked in a garage.

go figure after taking it to the dealer to get the coolant flushed a week or so ago it has developed a pin hole leak.
kept smelling coolant and I kept washing it out thinking it was left over coolant from the flush, then it was fine for a couple days then now it's back and no way it's left over from the flush
o'well at least the radiator has a lifetime warranty, they are going to deliver a new one to me this morning
already grabbed some coolant so sometime between 9-11 they will bring me the new one and take the old one away
I might take this opportunity and replace the upper and lower hoses even though they look fine.
@gooffeyguy or someone made there own baffles, wondering if anyone has those measurements for the cut outs, mine have been missing I think since i have owned it.

Yup him and me and @Sparksalot made them. I just cut them to fit not a big deal. I used this stuff and it comes in handy for other projects as well.

I can find the material I was hoping maybe someone has measurements or a diagram, I tried poking around with search but haven't found the right post yet

Oh that's the secret to taking those apart, that snap clip there needs to be spread open to unlock the shaft? I been trying to get mine apart. I guess I didn't see that hiding in the grease.
Yeah, there is an opene-up notch in the piece that the splines slide into. If yours is covered in grease you can still feel it with the tip of your booger-picker. I didn't even bother using snap-ring pliers, as the tips are tiny, and I suspect they'd just slip off the snap ring (it's not really a snap ring that's made for traditional snap-ring pliers anyways) so I used some angled needlenose to spread the ring and hold the end of the CV with one hand, and yank the shaft out with the other.
