Need some help. I recently purchased a 04 Yukon. The driver door switch panel only had a few switches that worked. Never have any issues with my door mirrors before. This past weekend, I installed a new door switch panel and now every time I put it in reverse, the driver door only mirror tilts down. I have the curbside view turned off, “both mirrors off” selected. It still does this. This is the second new switch I have installed so I do not believe the switch is faulty as the first one did the exact same thing. I have the seat mode set to driver 2 and the door panel button set to driver 2. Does anyone know how I can permanently disable this? I am really getting tired of this already. I have ready other articles and followed them but mine is still doing it.

Thanks

Does it do this when Seat/Driver 1 is selected?

If the switches are non-GM, maybe the seat/driver selector button has wires backwards.

Try it and let us know what happens on #1.

I raise this as a possibility, only because I have heard members seeing aftermarket mirrors that go up when they press down and down when they press up...

Maybe wiring diagrams overseas got misread in production. Known to happen.

SWAG: The driver's door module needs to be programmed to the VIN (meaning that it has to have the calibration to match the vehicle options); are these new switch modules, or did they come from a like-optioned vehicle?

If you can tell us which switches you're buying (with a link) and show us your RPO codes, it might help.

Who can program the new switch. I'm not paying my dealer $150 bucks an hour to do it.

If you have a Tech 2 scan tool or someone close to you that might be willing to help...

Tech 2 clone is about $300.

Use it twice for anything and you will have earned your return on investment.

May not be possible in the budget for you right now, but something to put on the wishlist if you plan on keeping and working on older GM vehicles for a while.
