Had that thought, too, but my brake lights come off and on like you'd expect when the brake pedal is depressed and let off :shrug:

As was mentioned, the switch has multiple contacts. I think some are NO and some are NC. I could jab my brake pedal a few times then lift the pedal with my foot behind it and get my cruise control to engage. Brake lights always worked, though. New switch fixed it. I took apart the old switch to see if it was just dirty contacts. Everything looked clean. Probably worn parts. Not worth fixing for a $15 (at the time) switch.

I was going to suggest the brake switch too. Although, I don't recall what made me notice the cruise not working. I don't remember if a check engine light came on or not. I never use cruise so something had to make me replace it

I use cruise constantly especially on trips. If I don’t I’ll end up going 110 and not even realize it until I see a cop and it’s too late

I would love to use it but with the hills here, it goes full throttle and down shifts to 2nd on a slight incline, not realizing we're almost at the top of the hill. On my Yukon, **** the ACC cruise. It slams the brakes on randomly

Had that same on my ‘17 Denali. Adaptive cruise sucks on the K2 platform. Way too aggressive with braking and accelerating. Seems to be fixed on the T1 platform.

@mikeyss comin in clutch again
He’s the man :) woulda kept on chasing my tail if he and a couple others hadn’t mentioned having the issue before and their brake lights still worked. I’d assumed if they worked the switch was 100%

Old stuff is definitely more straightforward:shrug:

Fo sho! Like, the radio has constant power for memory and amp power and a switched power to turn it on. These newfangled contraptions use a digital signal initiated by pressing a button to tell a processor to close a circuit to turn the radio on.
