Searching showed me mostly just results on OE and The Seat Shop's Durofoam seat cushions being installed but no real reviews other that "happy butts". I read one where they said the Durofoam was really firm. But, this can't be fairly compared to an aged, worn and beat-down OEM cushion. I found nothing on the ~$65 eBay cushions.

OE was $130+ from multiple places. They needed me to fill out all my info to give me a shipping quote. Easily $25-$30+ for shipping.

The Seat Shop, $111.20: https://www.theseatshop.com/product...-40-seat-configuration?variant=40239976611922

eBay, $67.40: https://www.ebay.com/itm/195478714343 (nearest me and in my cart)

Other eBay examples-

eBay, $66.99: https://www.ebay.com/itm/325159633816

eBay, $68.99: https://www.ebay.com/itm/204101442486

What y'all think?

I installed a Durafoam pad in my NBS. I found it to be stiffer and it sat me higher in the seat. It was comfy tho.

EDIT: In comparison to the passenger seat which had much less wear. The Durafoam was not as soft or comfy. If I were to do again I would have gone NOS on that and will on my NNBS id possible when the time comes.

Let’s experiment. Just ordered one from eBay for my ‘07 because the original is so soft it’s damaging the leather bottom.

This is the one I ordered:

Yes! I'm down for an experiment with some current comparison. That's the one in the third eBay link I posted. When did you order it and do you have an ETA?

With all my searching, I didn't see that first link. Bill D's and The Raven's threads are informative! I can't say I ever saw that red interior before. Makes me wonder where I was back in 2019 to miss such content.

Thanks for the links!

I have had a new oem bottom cushion and bottom cover sitting in the garage now for about a year I haven't put in yet, there were changes made in the bottom seat design for heat/cool which is why the vin number is used to match the part. my original bottom cover has a worn spot on the left side that was there when I bought it I just haven't changed it yet I figure the cushion is worn also so I bought both.
I think I paid around $130 for the cushion and maybe $50-80 for the cover?

Crazy how a molded block of foam costs more than patterned and sewn leather and/or vinyl, huh?!

The OE ones are a little more expensive these days, as expected. Most of the online GM/Chevrolet OE parts sellers have them priced around $130 but with ~$25+ shipping. I've never sat in a new OE seat so I don't know what to expect. I don't think I need a plush seat and would probably be fine with something more firm. I just noticed on my Florida trip that mine is smashed and essentially completely unsupportive. Side bolster isn't so bad. I've always been careful to use the running board to get up out of the seat. I'm also one to be mindful to not grip the steering wheel in the same place all the time or for too long so I don't wear the leather out in one spot.

I ordered it yesterday and the seller stated it should arrive by 12/4. Now I need to buy a new bottom seat cover.

Love the support of the Durofoam in my NBS. I don't like squishy except in the female persuasion.

The OE-style leather cover from The Seat Shop is leather for the buns and vinyl for the side panels, like OE. I probably spent $350 or so on both, plus a new seat heater on top of that. Not a tough job but one that I didn't want to do twice. Comfort and resale value (not that I'm selling anytime soon).

Unless I run across a deal on an OE cushion, I'll likely get the eBay special pending Dave's feedback. If not that, TSS's Durofoam it is.

I used to do interiors, mostly cloth to leather conversions on new cars. My biggest concern is the deep cuts and bleeding everywhere from the razor sharp edges of everything metal inside the seat. You don't realize you've cut yourself until you see blood smears in the foam. Just the memories have me checking my hands for cuts as I type this.

I just now ordered a new leather bottom and center console cover from these guys:

Supposedly doesn’t fit the ‘07 Yukon Denali but we’ll see! I’ll plan to do the work this coming weekend.

Mine just has some light surface wear on the bolster that can be fixed with a filler/dye kit. Those kits are $70-$80. If this cover is good quality, I'd just replace mine instead! Saving this listing.

Gents,

I replaced the drivers side bottom leather cover with one I order from the same place Dave did. I had an auto upholstery guy do the replacement so I can speak to that process but the cover itself was of decent quality. The fit is a bit short where it meets the back. I think the fit was altered a bit because he built up the cushion some. I can post a picture if you guys want to show what I mean.

Sure! Let's see it. How long ago was it installed, time and mileage? How big a boy are ya? :p Just wanna gauge how they hold up.

He built up the original cushion?

I just steamed both front seat bottoms. If the foam isn’t coming apart or falling apart they will steam and stay just fine. I’ve been doing it for years. They puffed up so well, I steamed the leather a bit to get them back over the bolsters. Before it felt like I was kinda falling to the left when driving, now it’s just right.
