sounds better than me recently hitting a nice curve at 100+ and getting a little squeal out of the rear tires, lol not sure what saved me, the hellwigs I think, didn't feel any braking going on
Yah, the auto braking only happens with the trailer brakes. Glad you escaped alive!

I thought the Stabilitrack system also has the ability to apply brakes to certain wheels when needed Screenshot_20220907-150456_Adobe Acrobat.jpg

I've changed the high and low beams without taking the bumper or headlight out so there's some room. It was a bastard if I remember correctly but I've never had the bumper off the avalanche
I have too many times. But you still unbolt the top of the light housing and tilt it forward don't you?

I tried and wouldn't do it that way ever again even in the Walmart parking lot. easier to take the bumper off.

ya, not sure what the outcome would have been there was a car coming the other direction and it was a right turn with a slight tilt to the left, no other obstacles. Wouldn't have been the first vehicle I have flipped lol. I suspect it would have been survivable seat belt was on. could have been a roll to the left or a grab and off to the right and a over correction and the traction system might have saved me, pure speculation. The turn was just a bit more than i anticipated at that speed, certainly got yeehaa out of me, next would have a well Fxxx
at least it wasn't raining

Today was opposite day. Went ***** shooting and missed the first THREE birds. Decided to put an LED light strip I bought for the rear (can't put it in til the rear is fixed from the crash) as an under-hood light. Drilled the switch mounting hole off which caused it to bind so I decided to drill it out. Drill caught which caused the switch to spin into two pieces. Prepared another switch, laid out my wiring and then forgot to install the woven wire cover over the wiring before I crimped the connectors. Decided to put the + ring terminal on the right hand fuse block stud and couldn't find my 10MM SOCKET. Wife brought home paper work for a new FORD EXPLORER!
Four Roses was not involved...until now.

Ordered some LED headlight bulbs from Amazon. Replacing the Phillips higher output bulbs. They seem to last about 2.5 years. Thought I'd give the LED jobs a try

Limited-time deal: SEALIGHT 9005/HB3 H11/H9/H8 LED Bulbs Combo, Super Bright Cool White, Plug and Play, Pack of 4 https://a.co/d/cz0HN8E
Get these in yet?

this is the one you want, bought mine in 2019, price has gone up about $30 and they take 6-8 weeks or longer to build and ship.
or you could go with a GM GENUINE 84143539
gm started making them like the mechman design with pressed diodes
it's actually for a k2xx 2500 but it will fit and work and is about $100 less than the mechman and is only 30amp's less

You'll end up returning them. I threw on a "great" set of leds maybe 2 years ago. They were definitely much brighter but only to about 15 feet infront of the truck. They lack distance. Huge no for me. Bought some ss3 fogs instead and havent looked back

Are these high output alternators a simple replacement or do other parts need to be replaced to account for the extra output?

plug-n-play, they do recommend upgrading the cable from the alternator output to the battery, I believe I changed mine to 1 gauge and added a 0 gauge ground wire from the alternator mounting bracket to the frame.

HID's are the way to go if you want good light output, but to do it properly you need to use relays direct to the battery and just use the headlight positive as the trigger.
otherwise you can get either get intermittent operation and/or melt the headlight fuse (over time). just have to take my word for it I have ran HID's for 20 years or more before they became a "thing". Otherwise LED's have to be the absolute highest output you can find and be adjustable
