Just added a heated steering wheel to my 2010 GMC Yukon XL. Purched the appropriate clock spring and wiring harness. All the steering wheel controls work, except the heated steering. The light does not even come on. Kept throwing the check engine light until I unplugged the heated steering underneath the the steering column. Any ideas? Is there a relay?

Hmm news to me and I added one too. My connectors a little to big so it doesn't like working. I also have had an airbag light on since then know what it for just it will get fixed eventually.

When I upgraded my 2008 Avalanche to include a heated steering while I bought the wiring harness as well and it turned out to be useless as there's a missing pin in the next portion of the harness.

I wired the green heated steering wheel into the accessory box to be on iginition and haven't had a problem since.

Did you just cut the wire from the harness and plug it into the accessory box?
Are you talking about the box left of the brake pedal?

Would you be able to send me a photo of where you placed the wire?

Where did you find the wheel? I've been looking for over a year. Out of stock

just needs the power wire connected, there is supposedly a brown wire down in the lower steering column area that needs to be connected to the heated wheel, you might have some luck looking on the gm upfitter guide or do as others and just connect it to accessory power (fused)
