Hauled family to and from restaurant for our birthdays. Watched all the lunatics speed past and either crash into each other, into the water or get pulled over by the cops. Busy night for police and fire on the highway, never seen so many fire engines on the highway (I-95) at one time on such a short stretch of road. Crazy.

Even crazier, my sister is considering a Chevy to replace her Kia! Someone call the Guiness Book of World Records!
Happy birthday James! Hope you had a great day.

Checked for a leak in the air-lifts. Thought perhaps I'd stretched them a little too much while jacking things up to attach the bars on the WDH during the western trek but after finding one of the nipples at the top of the bags loose - and replacing it as best as possible, it's still leaking slowly. Not going to pull them out; the leak isn't that large that they can't be used by topping them up each day I'm towing but I may want an additional solution.

Anyone have experience with Timbren or Sumo Spring bumps for towing?
I don’t, but in my opinion you can’t beat the factory air suspension for towing on these rigs. I tow a 7000 pound camper with our XL Denali, and it works fabulously. You can buy replacement factory shocks for $250 each from rock auto, and a new dorman air compressor for less than 200. Comes with all new plumbing.

They have that grape scented diff fluid.

When i went to change the rear diff and transfer case fluid in my wifes awd, that smell confused the crap out of me.
IIRC the color was a little off too.
I was more worried about the AWD xfer case, since i read it was 75/90... :jester:

Like the Tahoe, I read it was autotrack 2 fluid, so i ran with that.
xfer case was not happy at all with autotrack 2 fluid.
Did not like going in and out of engagement and would throw codes.
I had to reset the codes before it would try again.

If tags are high like that, does that mean less taxes when you purchase the vehicle?
haaaa I wish, sales tax here is essentially 10%, varies from city to city here where I live it is technically 9.6%
so if you buy anything including vehicles just add 10% to the listed price, why they can't just list that in the total price of anything is bewildering.
the only thing not taxed here is unprepared food & labor. the price you see is the price you pay
soda can's have .10 redemption added to each can
there is a fast food tax, take out and dine in tax are different

Iowa has 5% tax on vehicles and a prorated tag fee based on MSRP, Hundred Weight and age of vehicle.

ya there is a similar scale used here for tag fee's depending on the type of vehicle and intended use private/commercial and the fee goes down on a scale slightly over time
but sales tax is the same for everything new or used
all pickups are charged a commercial registration fee in CA unless you install seats in the bed of the truck.

just wait until they start getting more EV's on the road there really going to stick it them. They haven't decided yet "how" they will do it but it's not a matter if they will or not they will it will just either be annually or by the mile driven. they have to make up for the lost gas tax revenue, so your little economy EV is not going to be any cheaper to drive when it's all said and done. you will be paying extra for the use and the charging

The AWD transfer case in the Denali takes the same fluid as the transmission, Dexron VI

i would imagine one way they will do it is any "home charger" hooked up will have a special digital signature on the electrical grid and it will be attached to your account and the hours used for charging will be charged different than regular power usage that way they get there "tax" out of it

It's a 2011 Buick enclave cxl.
Hopefully I got the correct fluid. :jester:

The xfer case is really just a little gearbox/diff.
it's adorable compared to the 4x4 case on my hoe.

My fsm that I have only goes up to 2009 model years, but it was last updated in late 2008. :emotions33:

Well, changed the leaking water pump, thermostat, and cracked radiator.
All aluminum radiator from Alloyworks 3 row for $300. It’s 1-3/4” thick versus stock 1” on my LTZ with K5L cooling. Stock rad seemed very slim for “heavy duty cooling”. When I had to use the Tahoe to tow my 7500 lb travel trailer in the mountains it hit 3/4 on the coolant temp which I imagine is over 240?? Hopefully this will be better.

Can you share the link for radiator? I'm also in the market for a replacement/upgrade for my 2014 5.3, w/K5L package. I'm searching their website now, but coming up short using their search function.

EDIT: I think I found it... is this what you ordered?: https://www.alloyworksplus.com/coll....collection_1.16&spm_prev=..search.header_1.1

Edit 2: Are these products legit? I see their address is based out of Shanghai, so I assume that's where they're manufactured.

Are the Cold Case ones about the same price or more expensive? I know quite a few guys here have been super happy with theirs.
