Yes I see that list, it's hard to find some of the genuine parts on Amazon, tons of Chineseum on there, though.

One thing that I always used to do while I worked in the HVAC field working on huge centrifugal chillers was to put all your screws, nuts, bolts, etc, into separate zip lock bags as you take them off, and LABLE THEM as to exactly what they are so that you can reassemble it a LOT easier. LABLE them as YOU think the part is, to make it easier on you. Same goes for hoses, and other parts as well, just use larger bags. Good luck !!!

One other thing you can do, if you are willing to label your bags, is take a bunch of pictures, and include the associated picture reference on your bag.

I think its all the same, just branded differently. You're paying for ACDelco branding, not quality.

I'll go dorman, you go ACDelco and we'll see if my parts fail sooner.

I go 170mph with dorman sensors. I haven't had one fail yet.
The motor mounts are a different story. I think the rubber is just different

Your Dorman oil sender with screen is Filter GM# 12585328 and sensor is 12677836

Dorman #917-754-crank sensor is 12560228

Dorman #926-084-knock sensor is 2133521

Dorman #917-715-cam sensor is 12561211 or 8125612110 or Delphi is SS11368

This shows up as compatible with my 5.3L, but to check against the 6.0L I try the Suburban 6.0 or Silverado 2500 HD and it shows as incompatible.

Stand by, your nickel and dime spending, $100 and $150, is just starting. You want to surprise yourself? Keep a list of EVERY CENT spent that you had not allowed for in the beginning. If there is a woman's opinion involved in that dollar figuring, keep your head covered and get ready to duck.

I assume it could be a capacity/flow issue. For the 6.0 maybe it has higher flow rates, I dunno. Kind of like the A/C compressor the 10S17F for w/o Rear A/C and the 10S20F for vehicles WITH Rear A/C - extra capacity for extra cooling. I think if I do it, I'll go with Denso which will be cheaper than AC Delco, but is the OE supplier anyways.

Denso and Delphi parts are great substitutes for Genuine GM or AC Delco.

yeah, I'm experiencing that right now - my shopping cart on RockAuto at the moment is at $650 shipped, not including A/C supplies, window regulators a rear blend door actuator or the Tech 2 tool I am wanting.

The wife is getting used to just sighing and shaking her head. Making her think we should have just gone to the dealer and gotten something else. <sigh>

Well, I'll end up over 1200, maybe more by the time I get the stuff I want to do - and with the motor, labor, trans, parts, etc, I'm gonna probably be up over 7 large.

I'm probably gonna be around that too......for engine/trans complete.
The L86/10L90 swap would've cost me close to 10K w/o a cluster.
Then I would've spent 3-4 months trying to figure out how to get a fuel gauge to work.

But now with the new baby Duramax I'm thinking I'd rather have that. Its almost as fast as the 6.2.
And that "almost as fast" is making me think they did that on purpose.
I wonder how much those will be from the wrecked T/Y/S. The trans is the same.
Some folks are seeing 30-32 hwy MPG from that little 3.0L.

If it's coming as a long block with flywheel, be careful of what flywheel/flywheel spacer it has. Unless it is out of a vortec max or sikverado ss, it will originally have a 4l80e trans, and there are flywheel spacing differences with the 4l80e vs the 4l60e you have. Unless you have a 6 speed auto, I didn't notice what year truck you have.

Mine is a 4L60e, a 2004 Tahoe 5.3L. So what do I do? How do I check this and what do I do about it? It's been delivered and it is at my friend's house who is doing the swap. He is about 20 miles away and I can't get up there until tomorrow evening, probably, but I am headed that way then to take some parts... what do I look at, what do I measure, etc.,?

Or should I just email the builder and ask him? I will do that anyway, and see what he says.
