A right, so only 1 speaker at each door? I've the LT model but can't find any signs of it being Bose, and it sounds like crap so I hope for Bose this is not their stuff. Also as sad, no sign anywhere of it being bose. I will upload some pictures. My original system is a with a amplifier behind the glovebox. System is a 9 speaker configuration from factory. 16ish cm speaker in each door plus a tweeter connected in the doorpanel. The previous owner still had all stock except for the sub who was lying in the cabin behind the passenger seat. But as those wires are tin, everything is old, and not stock anyways, I'm thinking about removing all the old speakers, wires and amplifier, and create my own system with the Pioneer sub and just two decend speakers in the front doors, just amplfied by my 75watt radio output. Also Busy with weight savings so that will help a lot a since i've like a cabin the speakers in the back doors are not really helping anyways. Also because of this stock amplifier, and a other radio now, it messes with eachother what can disturb the clearness of speakers. You can also make reroute so you don't have to delete the stock amplifier but since this truck is no longer near stock, and will be with me for a long, I'm really leaning towards removing whats unneccessary and make it as I like it. ''I see in your topic you've a 2003 Tahoe, 2003 in also the facelift year so I think you've the facelift model then'' Here some pictures to explain.

Old 1,5din radio with a freaking casettedeck:

Stock speakers in door, without the speakerholder/rack. And I got some tweakers in the doorpanels, not photo's of that. So I have wires to each door, one for the tweeter and one for the speaker:

And this is the Amplifier behind the glove box:

Greets
I'm also using the stock tweeters in .y doors--I forgot those, I'm also using the rear pillar tweeters. I had the same speakers as you, also with the same damage.20180311_152100.jpg
If you had Bose, it would say that on your front speaker grills. The 03 started the new Canbus system, and the factory double din setup.
I originally had the factory jumpseat, but I installed a Bose center console and I wired in that sub to my existing system. I don't have a factory sub in my rear cargo area.
You should check out my build page. I installed alot of goodies :D

No wonder it sounds terrible -- the speaker "surround" is gone. The cone can't really move air that way. Very typical with age.
Well I understand what you mean and I'm not an audiophile, but all speakers just crack, can't even hear the news properly when driving 80 for example.

@Tonyrodz
Then I'm certain I don't have Bose, but I don't mind. Made up my mind, going for the full removal and new wiring just for the cabin. Yes, already begun reading your topic haha! You only have de 4.8, na na na na na. Haha just joking. Drives fine either I can imagine?

So easy to wire a nice little system in these trucks--nothing crazy, just a nice system.
Just edited the post just before you replied with a question :)

Yes exactly my though. Remove the old stuff, weight savings. Also have these speakers laying around, but I'm not sure it's worth cutting the steal of the door for them..

Great looking truck! Shoutout from another detailer that uses a GM full size rig to detail out of! Looks your work is top notch! :favorites37:
Thank you very much! A very cool, always good to meet a fellow detailer. instagram.com/nijholtdetails I'm just starting to post some more work of myself. Not always detailing because people not pay enough, but always give 100%. You got your page here of your truck?

Making good money in the detail world is hard to learn for sure. I’m like you I want to give everyone the best. Despite payments. Lol. I had to learn to charge more for my work and stick to my guns. Lol. Yeah my build thread is here:
