I just went through this with our 08 Denali. As the chrome clad coating fails on the lips of the 20” rims, the TPMS is crucial to low psi alerts.

All the time invested in purchasing sensors online (that were used) sold as new and having a shop install the expired parts caused a revelation.

Purchasing a $299 scan tool that reads the battery life in the sensors is less expensive than trying to low price shop for parts and labor. Now with the Denali sold, the diagnostic is used on a 09 Escalade Platinum.

Pay (in time saved) now or pay (more in dollars) later.

These sensors are less than a year old and were supposed to be genuine GM parts. The eBay seller I bought them from advertised then as genuine GM. They weren’t cheap.

I don’t say that like I’m shocked that one failed or that the ones I bought weren’t actually genuine.

Just saying it because the other guy said something about learning from buying crap sensors online and low-price shopping and “pay now or pay later”.

I was making a point that I did pay good money for what we’re supposed to be genuine parts, I did not cheap out on crap from amazon.

Dude.

Well what I did was when it prompted me to scan that tire, I scanned the left rear instead and it registered that immediately. So I'm fairly confident now that the sensor is bad (or not reading the calibration tool for whatever reason).

Just find it odd that it was sending a signal to the truck just fine all along, only when I went to recalibrate them did it disappear.

When you ordered on Ebay did you use OEM in your search and did you buy from a GM Dealer who sells on Ebay. That should ensure a GM part. Thats how I do it. Still cheaper than the local Dealer.
