The easy part is done

Yeah I can't wait to measure it 30 more times while slowly adjusting the UCAs. First I need to build some adjustable arms. I actually picked up a UCA the other day so I could give it to my fab guy and have him build me a set of super beefy boys.

the uppers need to offset, building a set of lowers would probably be easier
Spohn sells them as a full set or separate if you want to get an idea

Yeah I have their boxed and bushing lowers which are nice but I've seen some issues with the uppers and would like to avoid spherical joints if possible. Theres a guy in PT.net that built himself a set for his H2 rear swap in a Tahoe. He said he can make me a set but I'd like to source them local if I can to save shipping and be more hands on.

His are 3/4 plate boxed with a ruff stuff rod end on one side and a bushing on the other.

Dropped the rack caps and appliques off at a paint shop this morning. Guy quoted me $200 which seems fair, I suppose I was hoping for less but I guess 6 pieces is a lot of little pieces to mess with.

Yeah I’ve heard of those Spohns failing under high hp applications.

I plan to get new stock lowers and extend them to center the axle in the opening. I'll use the originals as splices/fish plates and box in the underside. I plan to build some adjustable uppers with some poly bushings I already have on hand, scrap DOM and some tube adapters and bushed ends from a suspension fabricator supply (Barnes 4WD, Ballistic fab, Rusty's, etc.)

Cool! I thought it was exclusive to the higher trim models- Denali, Esky, maybe Z71, etc. That opens up the possibilities.

My local yard is an LKQ U-pull-it, so they don't keep note of specifics such as trim around glass, etc. I give 'em $2, pass the turnstile and the hunt is on! They're decently well-organized so I just head to the sea of fullsize SUVs.
I wish I had a decent yard here! They’re all terrible. And hardly an NBS or NNBS can be found. [emoji19]

LKQ is my happy place. It's only about 15 minutes away and $2 to get in. In a past life that yielded more free time, I would go browse just to get ideas. Sometimes I'd be approached by someone needing a tool and, since I'm there just BS'ing around, I'd go give 'em a hand. You never know who or what you'd run across.

Pretty sure I saw you say that now you've seen me say that so now we've made a loop of infinity. Or some shit:elephant:

You need your pinion to be pointing up around 3 degrees.

Of course, these numbers will change if you move the truck elsewhere. If you do, just re-measure the front and make the rear pointing up at the trans about 2 degrees less.

Go ahead and build those uppers now I'll test them for you :Big Laugh:. I definitely agree my pinion angle is partially the reason the yoke eats the evap thingy but maybe the bumps will help until I get UCAs.

Dang when you like all my posts at once and I get 25 new notifications I get a little hit of dopamine. That's for enabling my addiction :hat:.

Same here.

Both y'all come on down I'll give you a tour of the local yards lol.

Well decided I didn't have enough crap to do so I started a mini project so I could get some quick gratification. Hated the factory hookup and it only opened 90*so I could never see how to line the plug up. Plus it hung low and blocked the shiny rear end parts so it needed to go bye bye. Got a plug for $30 at Autozone used a beastly hole saw and bam it's all done! Cleaned up the hitch and painted it as well.

You sir are a stand up guy. I've never had anyone at a junk yard offer me any help.

Thank you, and that's a shame. Everyone swimming together through the sea of discarded vehicles are brethren and... sistren? lol

I'm a much better giver than a receiver. Jenn can vouch for that ;)

I don't get it. You mean there are more gifts under your Christmas tree that have your name in the from spot not the to spot? So your basically like Santa?
