Picked up the 3m eraser wheel and changed out the rear GMC emblem.

It's freaking hot to do anything else, mid 90s with high humidity.

My 2011 had the black GMC badges front and rear and I really liked the look. If I would've known how easy it was to remove the front grill emblem I would've done it while at the salvage yard removing my other belongings. ae59a6ea0a6ae7fa957058aafa80fa78.jpg393067d0c86fcb68bdaa96123a0e68ca.jpg

(Still) cleaning up 2 quarts of oil that spilled in the back floorboard. I'm so glad I had the WeatherTech liner back there! Also glad it was new/clean synthetic oil. It doesn't smell at all. Also glad my neighbor hooked me up a while back with a hefty stack of PIG Mats. On the up side, this has prompted a deep carpet shampooing and vacuuming.

Had it up today and checked the upper control arm bolts. All four took a half turn before my torque wrench clicked at 148 foot pounds. Everything else is tight.

took the sway bar out and found a buildup inside the bore of the bushings and rust buildup on the pad of the frame between the bushing and the frame. The bushings were sort of galled to the sway bar and should be replaced soon but in the absence of parts I lubed them up with spray anti-seize and put everything back together. Now the sway bar moves smoothly in the bushings. Fingers crossed.
That’s the reason I switched to greaseable sway bar bushings from Energy Suspension so I can just hit the zerks once in awhile. My sway bars always seemed to make noise.

I probably spilled 3 or 4 quarts in my explorer some years ago. I had a large tote of about 6 or 7 gallon bottles of dirty oil to recycle. Tossed them in the hatch, and headed to O'Reillys. Came up on a stop sign a little too quick and the whole tote rolled forward. I think I lost the lids to two or three of the jugs and oil went errrrrywhere. I tried to clean it up but there was always an oil glaze on the carpet. I considered it free rustproofing. So it's possible. Lol

He said it was new though, that’s why I was wondering. New jugs are pretty hard to pop the lids on even when you’re trying.
