My 6.2 is getting 11mpg city using E85, so it's not too expensive for gas. If I don't run E85, it has to be premium. The last time I ran premium over a year ago, I was able to get almost 14 city and I got 20mph highway going under 75mph. I do drive kinda light footed because I'm mainly in the city, and most speed limits are 30mph.

Post up as many photos as you can Bryan, start another thread for it too, someone will bite. It's a great commuter car IMO, very comfortable too.

@Rocket Man @PNW VietVet

Will do. I will post up a link for the YouTube as well.

Gas prices in Oregon hovering around $4, always putting 91 in it too.

It is super comfy too!

Some minor problems:

  • Nav Disc doesn't read anymore. Tried updates and new DVD, but I just use my phone for everything anyway.
  • Climate buttons are wearing off on left side only.
  • Passenger door lock doesn't pop up.

That's it. It's been a perfect running truck for me and my family. I treat her like she's a person.

I am looking to sell/trade my wife’s ‘09 Tahoe withe the 6.2. It’s Greystone Metallic, loaded LTZ, RWD, buckets, CAA and very well taken care of. 107k miles (20k in the last year and it’s not a good commuter car now).

Dealer lowballed me, and I told them it was rare but they didn’t blink. Any thoughts or outside parties that I can interest?

Oooooh... 2WD. I have to at least ask where are you located?

Greystone. Go swap. Jen won't notice.

Bruh... I don't think she even noticed the drop and wheels. I was backing out the driveway the other day and she came to chat for a minute. I had the window down and she rested her arms on the sill as we talked. She's 5'-2".

One off-putting thing about the 6.2 Tahoe is that it seems most are 4WD, so this 2WD one intrigues me. It'd be what I want to make mine- 6.2 and a 6L80. Half the mileage, too.

As Garth said, "Schwing! Schwing! Schwingschwing!"

...But if it's from a salty place...:(

Yeah, buddy! I'd be on this thing like stink on a monkey if I didn't have the 2018 Truck of the Year in my garage now!

Are you missing your old one? :)

Maybe a little bit :burnout:But I had my Olds 442 project starting and got a great price, but yeah, it was a great driver..

Now, I am looking for another Tahoe 4WD for an Adventure/Leisurely Off Roader build that I want to do..

So anyone that has a line on an older/high mileage 2007-2014 Tahoe 4WD (preferably Z71) that is a deal, let me know..

Thanks,

Thirdcoast

Researching... lol
Still waiting to see where this dude is at.

I checked NADA and, using my ZIP code for both, it's worth $5K more than mine. I'd easily have more than that invested in a 6.2 and 6L80 swap.

Just don't overthink it for too long or it will be gone and you will say "I wish I had" instead of "I'm glad I did"... lol

Ok. Sorry...been slammed here in Oregon with remodeling a bathroom and work. Southern Oregon by the Ocean. But Not salty. Good weather until today when the rain came.

The Super rare and super awesome 2wd Tahoe is in Oregon. I moved here last August, and it isn’t salty. It’s wet though. Pine needles are my biggest bugaboo.

The Tahoe spent its life in SoCal until last year, and it’s still garaged to this day.

The story and love affair with this truck is that it was custom built for someone at GM (name available later) I bought it on a whim over the phone while I was on vacation from a dealer who had delivered him another special build. I wanted a 6.2 like my Camaro without the dang AFM. And whoa...do I love it. But my wife...she’s not a fast driver and when I’m in this thing, damn. Camaro in a truck body. She doesn’t appreciate it and I have a company Ford...with lights and sirens on it...so I drive that everywhere. It’s a 5.0, so that’s cool I guess.

The only upgrades it doesn’t have were the auto steps and blind spot detection. It’s very much a driven car, but I think it’s time to move on.

I was thinking of keeping it and selling it at Barrett Jackson in 52 years because I’m sure it will be worth millions...of pesos?

The Nav disc doesn’t work. The passenger rear door inside lock is tired. And there’s a chip in the windshield. Everything else points to a very meticulously maintained and cared for car.

So....what’s it worth? I have No f’ing idea until I get some offers, but first I have to advertise it! Portland Metro is my biggest city and everyone here loves their Tesla’s and BMWs. My neighbors hate me and my fleet of GM. I simply don’t have any interest in dealing with dealerships that have no idea what they’re talking about.

Oh...wife wants a Subaru.

A Subaru.

My other half works as an advisor/dispatch for Subaru. Steer clear of them, they are money pits!!! They seem like nice cars, and they do run forever...but you'll pay lots of money in the process. I used to want a WRX, but wouldn't touch one with a 10' pole.
