Throw the keys in your microwave at night, works like a Faraday cage. Great to silence your cell phone for afternoon naps too!
I either have a cheap microwave or very good cellservice phone rang on all 3 of my phones. call them with my house phone.

which viper? and what else did you add to it

I was wrong.. it wasn't a viper it was an Audiovox APS997E... This is the alarm that replaced the Viper... I've got the shock sensor for the glass and i think thats it... it's on my 97 4 runner.

the base viper alarm I had installed runs $400-600 retail then I added a 4g/gps add-on that was another $160 (plus the service which was another $139), then I added the tilt sensor, glass sensor, extra horn and requested specific installation and programming, it took the installer 8 hours to do the install and then another 1.5 hours getting the alarm how I wanted it and the 4g/gps service activated and tested. I'm happy with the install and price and it has a lifetime warranty.

no , they are a Mexican cartel
they are all over the U.S. :(
I did a quick search and found out the "great news" I wish we had someone to help us get rid of people like this . I guess they're a tad more involved that being just a "local Gang"
Scary times we live in...

The alarm I had installed was nothing special... The place i had it installed is known for being kinda expensive.. The system you have installed sounds like it will do the job.
Best of continued success with it.

DEI (Clifford & Viper) is good stuff. Did one on our VW in 95 after our CD player was pinched and the dash was hacked up to get it. Prior to that walked up to my car with the door open, windows down, motor running and no keys in the ignition. Later discovered there was a tool called a Lishi that granted access to anything.

Did a Clifford 3G with tilt sensor, remote start for a 5SP M & a window + sunroof closer. The install took 8 hours and bummed they said it’d be two. The installer did it to spec and had only one issue with it in 25+ years. Amazing company as all their 3G & 4G products are backward compatible and upgradable.

Unfortunately their products are only as good as the installer. I’ve seen guys use vampire clips on installs, then blame the product. The installer is key.

I think it’s time that we all got ourselves a “ TRUNK MONKEY “ . Check it out on YouTube. I think that would be a great solution to truck thefts !!! And it works too !!! Bastards.......I hope you find your truck !!!

You might want to rethink that. There is a excellent chance you will be soaking a lot of money into that POS for repairs...All that just IMHO.

In my neck of the woods the Escalade is one of the most popular vehicles to end up at the chop shop here in Miami. Opa-Locka in Miami is notorious for chop shops.

You might want to consider a good used PPV Tahoe.

Hopefully things work out well for you.

I'll assume you mean a police pursuit vehicle. Haven't seen any of those that were 4x4 at least around here and that is a requirement. Why would a PPV be any different than any other Tahoe as far as theft other than the look may be a deterrent.

What does everyone think is my best option for aftermarket security? Ideally I want something that is reasonably priced, will allow me to track the vehicle, possible camera view inside and outside the car with motion alerts, perimeter sensing with motion alerts and sensitivity settings similar to a home security system, maybe something that will allow me to cut fuel, disable ignition, etc to prevent the vehicle from being taken. Maybe a system that will allow me to dial into the car each day and basically make it immobile. Suggestions?

a hidden toggle switch will do the cut-off, any kind of system that will provide gps tracking etc will have a subscription. mine cost's about $139 a year from viper, I think owl has a dashcam that connects to wifi, /beyond that your probably not going to find anything remotely reasonably priced, lojack will be your best bet and usually that is a option available at the dealer if I remember correctly I believe the cost in the range of $2-3k

As long as dumb a$$ liberal politicians and governments make it easier and easier for drug use you will have the idiot entitled people that say, "I don't have it, you got it, I want it and I don't care about laws, so you don't deserve to have it and I will steal it". Per capita, Eugene, Oregon, has the highest % of homeless, with San Fran and L.A. right behind, and our home invasion, car theft, vandalism, drug crimes.....etc. just sky rocket while anyone who goes downtown has to watch out for the needles, urine and feces on the sidewalks and gutters.

I’m general, drug use has gone down over the last decade.

So how does this all work? There is some type of cloning device that clones your keyfob from outside the home?

lol, you must live a in a good area, there's tweaker's galore around here

Yeah, that’s why I said generally. Across the US usage has gone down but in certain areas it’s gone up. (Especially in a few cities and lots of rural areas)
