I’m looking at the depo lights. Do they come with different shrouds now ?

they still come with this shroud:

it just won't fit MH1 projectors, so I had to cut mine out and use something else I had lying around

been thinking about buying a Ranch Hand bumper forreeevverr, like since my first Tahoe in 2016

but didn't like the $1200 price tag and couldn't find any used

FINALLY found something similar today. it was a 20 minute old post when I saw it

just 2 bolts and some welds holding it on, so we were in and out of the dude's garage within 30 minutes or so

tomorrow we'll try bolting her up and see if it fits

after many hours of swearing, grinding bolts, WD40-ing rusted out crap, etc we were able to come very close to mounting it up

the OEM bumper came off easy enough

4 18MM bolts was all that held it on there

however, the new bumper required a lot more clearance

we're hoping to have it up and running tomorrow

I think mine were 15s too. But I was making sure he had bolts on this side bracket too

I don’t understand, why do you have to take the lens off those lights when you just need to use the brackets and different bowl ?

No Depo retro. And no wall of 15s in the back of my Tahoe either...

But I like watching his windows vibrate and my speakers flex hard this side!!

mine only had 4 18mm bolts total, nothing else. I'll get pics the next time I have the OEM bumper

ALL of the videos I watched showed 15mm, but we made damn sure, and mine were definitely 18mm

anyways, between Saturday night and Sunday night, 3 of us (myself, my dad, and a college roommate) probably spent 13 hours or so on this dang thing

nothing was fitting right. tons of grinding, beating with hammers, messing up stuff, etc

we finally got it to mount up

but there's absolutely no way to fit the other set of headlights (DRLs, turn signals, etc), or the OEM grille

so it's back to the drawing board tonight

I spent Monday and Tuesday in New York for work so I couldn't get any progress on it, but tonight we're going to try to make out own brackets to drop the bumper 2", and then weld it in place

hmm I see what you mean!

we only removed these 4 18mm though, so maybe the others had rusted out or been removed previously

we have the bumper kinda jerry rigged in place now

we're going to attempt to cut up that 1999 s10 blazer rear shackle that we had lying around, and use that to drop the bumper 2" from the OEM holes, so that the grille and lights will fit

after many more hours of unsuccessful attempts, we finally got it "ish"

I say "ish" because we cut out a lot of material from the bumper we didn't need to cut, it isn't perfectly straight, it doesn't line up exactly as it should (see the distance between bumper and fender) and I still need to clean it up and repaint the rust and stuff, but hey it's on there!

I'd hate to see how the other guy will hold up in an accident. Not sending any bad vibes your way, just wondering cuz it looks to be built like a tank! Not my style, but looks beefy as hell!

yeah it seems people either love or hate these bumpers lol. it's probably my favorite thing about the truck now

I traded the crappily built 10" doors for my old 4 8 doors

also swapped my SoundQubed HDX318s for Sundown ZV318s

ended up losing some bandwidth and dB, so they'll be going back up for sale tonight

thinking of dropping from 4 18s down to 2 or 3 18s and trying that instead
