Hi, I'm new to the forum and wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing this issue and having delays due to backorders and the current strike. I have a '15 Yukon Denali XL with the 6.2L engine. Recently I noticed a clicking sound coming from the passenger side of the engine so I took it in to the dealer. They found that I have a bent pushrod involving cylinder 3 and it was due to a faulty lifter. It is still under powertrain warranty so they have to follow protocol to repair and apparently that includes additional work in which they have to open the cylinder. They are able to get all parts except for the head gasket which is supposedly on indefinite back order. I dropped it off 2 weeks ago to the day and they state that there is no delivery date in sight and most recently state the GM workers are on strike so they truly have no idea when they will get the part. I was wondering if others are experiencing a similar issue currently.
They did give me a courtesy vehicle, but it is smaller than my Yukon XL which made camping this weekend more difficult. Also, I own a boat and have been unable to do anything with it since I am without my tow vehicle. Very inconvenient for owning a $72,000 vehicle which I bought new and have had all the maintenance performed. I have had numerous other issues with the vehicle including multiple this summer. I'm just not sure what to do from here. I think it's unacceptable that they can't even give a date.
