( 240's)...... We had at the Bondurant school, about 30 240's.... Some 2000's... A couple years later Datsun gave us a couple 260Z Turbos..... For school cars on a track with all turns, the car didn't work out.

The turbos kicked in then the car would try to spin out.

When we went to Ford...... They created the school car at the track.... Creating what was called the SVO Mustang.....

Sadly, 25 of the 240Z's were crushed..... No VIN numbers..... Sad.....

The 510’s had almost a 50/50 weight split that made them a great road race car, same with the BMW 2002’s. The other nice thing were the pedals were close enough together for using the heel/toe method. I remember going to see Paul Newman race his 510 a few times. He was no slouch on the track

Bondurant had a bunch of 510's for a while, before I got involved..... The BMW 2002's , etc were also GREAT SCCA cars.

( The Mini Coopers were fabulous to watch ) !!

During that time, I crewed SCCA with a F-5000 McRae GM1, then an IMSA Chevy 'wide-body' Monza. Ahhhh that V-8 sound.......

I loved the Mini’s as well, they were like driving a slot car. The old GTI’s were a decent track car, you could get the left rear tire in the air going around the carousel. I’d love to drive some of the Skylines that JDM Legends work on. It’s too bad we only got the 1.6L in the 510’s. Just needed to add a header and some side draft Weber’s to give it a little kick.

Interesting.......( A local dealer trim option?)
But I am REALLY trying to like the exterior treatment...... <also noting wheel design>....

.....Still trying......

Can't do it....... Ugly as hell .......
Agreed. Only thing I liked was the carbon fiber look interior pieces. Unfortunately I couldn't get a good pic, the doors were locked.

And..... what's with the Ford style hood scoop ???

This GMC almost looks like someone made a practical joke for OCC..... The interior looks OK...

Just OCC trying to cash in on their popularity I guess--at the time. Rims look to be stock 04 style without the center caps. I'm sure it wasn't cheap when new. They did a lousey job wrapping the center console lid.20191005_104255.jpg
