C9EAD8C6-D798-4543-84B7-4D76560C02BD.jpeg Airaid MIT install this morning. Drove this ***** through 3’ of water and she took it like a champ in the floods we had. When the flood debris is stuck on at your bow tie on the grill you are at about max you ever want to go. Everything worked fine. Clear and clean intake etc. she got me home. My street dips down before going back up. Exhaust sounded like a boat. Haha. Tough ole *****.

That’s impressive.

Did you get any water in the cab?

If this stuff keeps up, all you guys along the southern Atlantic and gulf coasts will need to install snorkel kits!

Nothing inside at all.

Yeah it was contemplated for a bit. Me an my old timer buddies were having coffee yesterday talking about snorkels. Haha.

This really made me reconsider lowering mine badly. Thought about lifts for the first time in 10 years.

I've always been a lowering guy cuz I never go off road. I had my Tahoe lifted for about a year just because of the tires I had for it (mildly aggressive all-terrains). I think the long bodies look better lifted. The Houston used wheel/tire market is huge with lots of OEM take-off sets from new 4WD trucks. Toss on a 2" front/1" rear spacer lift and some all-terrains and see how you like it. It'll be cheap and quick to bolt-on.

So my passenger side bumper is shoved pretty good. I got to trimming some plastic up between the fender liner and bumper cover so new tires won’t rip it off but I’ve noticed that it rubs a little on another area too. I’ll post pictures in a little bit. I know its only damage on that side because the drivers side doesnt rub a bit

I've had water splash over my hood while crossing a stream and another time fell into a rut on one side and had water almost to the windows on the passenger side. Knowing where the air intake was, I punched it to get out quick and only my pride was damaged. Not even a drop of water got inside either time, impressive.

One of these days I'll get around to leveling mine with that RC spacer up front.
