And I have a detail question for Chase.

On the NBS roof. How do YOU detail the fins that run front to back? You know in between where the big pad won’t really reach properly.

Do you pull out the small pad? Since we know everyone spends a lot of time up there. Lol

The 5 inch pads that my porter cable uses work just fun in between the fins up there.

So I picked up a set of slightly used OEM shocks from another memebrr that just dropped his 2003 denali. OEM fronts and the passive arnott rear shocks for pretty cheap. My client with the big mechanic shop threw a ton of extra detail work at me this week because he’s moving his entire garage to his new place in Kentucky this weekend. So I jumped to it and got it all hammered out, but used the benefit of having him do mechanical stuff for me. Truck got put up on the rack today while I was washing cars at the shop today and the new shocks got put in. Good thing I did, the front shocks that I did two years ago that were slightly shorter than they should have been were totally shot. The knock off Chinese arnotts had held up ok, but it definitely rides WAY better on the new shocks! I’m a happy camper now! Shocks that came out:

Also put totally new bushings on the tops of the front shocks because I’m that ocd guy.... lol

Yup! And ride height sensors as well! I didn’t install the compressor or the sensors. My compressor was replaced two years ago when I did the rear shocks. And it’s been working perfectly ever since. I figured it ain’t broke so don’t fix it. Lol. And the ride height sensors have not presented problems either. So I will hang on to the compressor and sensors in case something fails. But for now it’s all good!

So I’m starting to tackle paint items. My poor paint is thrashed.... like everywhere.... ugh
At any rate @ivin74 sold me three door handles in my exact paint color! Score! But holy crapolla!!! If I’d known how much work it takes to switch out a door handle!! I would not have done it. Anyways, the drivers door handle is in excellent condition as well as the front passenger side handle is great in great shape. Gave them a little clay bar and a little CG V36 polish and they cleaned right up! Then I tackled switching out my driver door handle. It was a nightmare! But I got the swap done(thankfully!)

Gotta sand down and repaint the grab handle for the rear passenger side as it’s got a pretty deep scratch in it. But evidently valspar makes paint matched to factory paint codes and there’s a store that mixes it up and puts it in a spray can right on the way to the junkyard in the high desert that I frequent. I did a test spray on the grab handle this afternoon, and it’s a perfect match! I’m stoked. I have an almost full can from the last project so I’ll use that for the grab handle. So next week when I head to the junkyard, I’ll get two more cans of it for the next paint project.
