Going to register the Tahoe today after motor swap and go for a shakedown run. during swap I noticed the trans pan was a bit wet. looks to definitely be pan gasket. I ordered new gasket and filter kit and new fluid. I'll take care of that next weekend.

Just a straight swap from my Suburban to Tahoe which I bought with a motor that had quite a few collapsed lifters at 158K, my Suburban ran great just body too rusty. no mods really. I did however installed a new Melling stock replacement oil pump and a new Cloyes Timing chain set. also all new gaskets and seals. definitely transmission fluid. my seals on the suburban motor were all dry. the only weep was oil cooler clock off plate gasket.

It's where you make one thread containing a compilation of everything you've done, as opposed to a scattering if steps that have to be read piece wise

Agreed.

sorry a novice to the forum thing.

It's ok, you're off to an awesome start with s swap right off the bat!

If you create a thread for your build in the "under construction" section, we can ask a really helpful moderator to combine your current threads into that one so all your progress is together.

Okay thanks. I will try to figure that out, some things were interior, some powertrain etc. I was concerned about keeping in correct section.

The "under construction" section is a little different in the fact that each thread is a single vehicle and it's "journey". Poke around in there goes a minute and you'll see what I mean. If you start a thread in there for your Tahoe, we should be able to combine things like your "big day coming", "1 in 1 out", "almost there", "test drive", etc. to chronicle your truck.
