I don’t trust the vehicles calculation since that’s never been what I actually see. I divide the miles travelled by the gallons between fill-ups. That’s what I consider MPG.

Agreed. I always calculate mine when I fill up as well.

Regardless, idling lowers MPG and a higher idle will lower it more, although it'll be virtually unnoticeable. I'd happily take a .000x MPG penalty if a few hundred RPM would fix a charging issue.

Singer alternators or CES alternators are both great options. Both do high output hairpins and both offer billet cases. I have 2 soon to be 3 270amp Singer alts on my 5.3 now.

Ignore the belts dust, that was when I had an incorrect length belt on from when i was playing with routing.
