So I tried quality ac Delco rotors and pads. They made it a little over a year before getting warped.

This time im trying raybestos rotors and Bosch ceramic pads. I hope they last longer.

I want to do something fun, yet here I am doing boring work. Efans. The old ones were getting really loud. The bearings were sounding nasty. Better safe than sorry so I replaced em.

I want a set of kooks catted long tube headers. They're $$ but I wont run into VA emissions issues with them.

I just bought a new TV so they might have to wait a while.

I actually had LT headers installed for a while until emissions testing snagged me. I was running a non-standard single high flow cat and that wasnt enough.

To your question high RPM power was very evident. It was great. There might have been a loss down low due to the 1 7/8 larger primaries, but nothing too drastic. 1 3/4 primaries supposedly help with and low down loss. On the third hand it might have just been a case of so much better higher RPM power that lower down it felt like a loss by comparison.

I was running speed engineering headers. Well built but if you have bad engine mounts the drives O2 sensor will hit the body.

Goddamn. I just talked with summit and tried to do a price match. They couldnt because part numbers didnt match. The rep was cool though about it and understood the price savings.

I cancelled the order. I'll call up scoggin dickey parts later this week. I'm in no rush.

$599 free shipping 1 7/8" kooks headers arrived. I'm shocked. While my speed engineering headers we're good, these are amazing!

Now to source a ypipe.

I'm trying to install my wideband in my stock exhaust to learn the tuning ins and outs before putting long tubes headers back on. A bad tune can nuke cats so I want to be proficient before the expensive parts and cats go on.

That said I ******* hate exhaust work. Nothing ever goes smoothly. I put on a ton of anti seize and I still ripped out threads today.

This is what's going in.

Destroyed threads. I'll have to cut that bung out and replace.

New bung and spare sensor I had.

Cutting and welding fun tomorrow!

The wideband will go near that stock bung location, before the cat.

Fwiw, after cat wideband sensors still read pretty accurately.

Everything welded in. Flux core makes a mess but it's cheap and easy.


All done. 1 bung for the stock sensor, another for the wideband.
