Time to buy a Tech 2 ..I see a ton of threads when I do a search
units clones vs. originals ETC...

Where is the best place to purchase? Are there accessories I should be looking at in addition to the unit? Is it even possible to buy a non-clone unit?

TIA

I think I remember a thread on this. It's a software thing, right?

Yeah, I wasn't sure what is best. It looks like you can do a this with a windows laptop but not sure.

I found this base on the link you sent above

http://www.chinacardiags.com/wholes...or-gm-saab-opel-suzuki-isuzu-holden-1011.html

Looks pretty complete and guessing that is a good option. Not sure if anyone has purchase experience from the site and if it was positive.

I found this one here but it is double the price, guessing it is original vs clone?

https://www.vetronix.com/collections/tech-2/products/vetronix-tech-ii

I found this on ebay but it has a statement that it only supports cars, not trucks? I see that on multiple ebay listings but I'm not sure that makes sense

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tech2-Diag...or-GM-SAAB-Isuzu-Sic-Bo-Opel-US-/264205152586

While this listing seems to be pretty on point in their description and reads more like a US seller

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tech2-II-S...cars-trucks-Saab-and-Isuzu-Opel-/112866708032

all a little confusing

Joe, what kind of truck do you have? This post is in the GMT900 forum but your avatar looks like a K2 to me. The Tech-2 will work on the GMT-900s but not the newer ones. GM makes an interface for them too (MDI2 with GDS Software) that will also work on the older vehicles.

When the listing says no trucks, they mean Top Kicks and Kodiaks and the like.

GMT800 and older just need the Tech-2 with latest PCMCIA software, 33.004. TIS2000 is nice to have too.

GMT900 needs Tech-2 plus CANDI module with 33.004. TIS2000 is nice to have but for programming modules, have to go on internet.

Hey man yeah I have a 2012 Denali XL I just like that pic since the color matches

So should any of those ebay options work for me then?

TIA
