I checked for the DL3 RPO but it doesn’t have it. Maybe because it’s an 02? But I’ll try that swap today. Good idea. If it works , then Ill just have to see about swapping the caps.

If your Denali is an 02 your going to need this switch, in 03 they put the power fold mirror on the driver door switch along with all switching over all the interior door switches to a new style

The 02 Denali my buddy parted had them. The switch is the most important part of that swap.View attachment 221953

If they are going into an 02 Denali or any other pre 03 truck you’ll need this switch, in 03 they moved it to the driver door switch along with changing over all the door switches too a new style

Yes, completely forgot about the pre 02. Would it matter if his is a late 02? Meaning he might have the new for 03 electrical setup. That switch goes where the 4wd buttons would go, correct?

Not entirely sure on this, this is what the door switch would like like on a pre 03 truck, I think the door wiring is slightly different in terms of the connectors for the switch iirc

Man my wiring is completely different from the 05. Not only the switches but the entire harness is. The 02 mirror has about 8 wires and the connector is right there behind the triangle panel. The 05 has at least twice as many and the connector is behind the door panel. I can’t even plug the mirror in anywhere. Then the switches are completely different, there’s at least twice as many wires and the connectors are completely different. I’m not even gonna attempt this. I don’t even care about the power fold since I never used it on the 05 but the signals would be nice.

That sux. There's a yt vid where a guy added your mirrors on his 01/02. He had to add a toggle switch to his to make them fold, and spliced into his turn signal wires from his steering column.

I think the signals would be pretty easy to do. Just need to tap into the existing wire, and ground the negative.

Way too much work for me.

Again lol.

No, not easy. The wiring is a major hassle. I would have to do a whole bunch of cutting, splicing, running wires from the steering column for the signals, etc. It’s just not worth it to me. Like I pointed out, there’s not even a connector on the 02 that the mirrors would plug into. Thanks though, guys.

If you have a 00-02, it would be easier to swap the 02 esky powerfold mirrors in with the switch that goes where the 4wd controls would be than the 03+ style. Would be pretty easy to grab that stuff out of a junkyard

Yeah I agree considering the 05 mirrors I looked at had nowhere to plug in on my 02. I’m not interested in cutting the connectors off and wiring each wire to different connectors, the 05 has about 10 extra wires going to the mirror.

i'm going to use a rear window switch from a 99-03 protege. already figured out the wiring just, need to source out the switch and pigtail from the junk yard. the switch is flat so might mount it to the outlet plate in the center console.

This is what I'm going to use.
2 wires go to both of the fold motors (in/out)
1 power
2 grounds
Already tested it with the front window switch from the mazda protege, but to bulky to mount. So I'll be using the rear window switch which is flat and will sit flush.
