Got the motor moved today and the old harness off. Was going to build a harness but thinking about just having it done.
Hoping I can pick that up next month. If I sneak out tonight may start tearing it down. If the weather holds start decent may try to get the car moved in the next week or two. May be able to update this thread finally but next step is finding the keys for the car and trailer...

Found the Cadillac keys but not the trailer keys yet. Damn

Started tearing the motor down last night and used a scope to look into the cylinders. Surprisingly, even though the outside was pretty dirty, you could still see cross hatching on walls so this may be a decent motor after all.

Not sure you can really tell in the pictures but these exhaust manifold bolts are not quite straight. On the same side (drivers) they helped me out by breaking the others off in the block. Guessing they had a quality mechanic perform some work at some point.

Found this gem which, unless they swapped out gaskets themselves with OEM or using that same quality mechanic, could be still the factory gaskets.

Found several of these mud dauber creations in some interesting spots.

And where we left off for the weekend.

As you can see she isn't the prettiest of motors but honestly really happy considering it has sat for over 10 years in different garages that were not climate controlled.

Next up is degreasing and power washing (maybe several times) and mocking up with the new intake manifold then paint and reassembly.

If I can ever find the trailer keys, next weekend we should be moving the car over and maybe start stripping the interior.

Not much of an update but excited to finally having something to update.
