This is related to another GM vehicle (Buick Envision), but I am hoping someone here can help point me in the right direction, since I think it is more an SPS2 programming issue. My dealer has had my 2021 Envision for over 11 weeks now trying to simply replace the Driver Assist module. They claim that SPS2 programs it, but then it does not work due to improper VIN programmed. For 11 weeks they claim to have been working with GM tech to figure this out, but I think both dealer and GM tech have been dropping the ball. And GM complaint line, regional manager, etc. have NO ABILITY to escalate this... so, now here I am trying to figure out why they are having this issue and doing their job for them. I am hoping may be GM techs who know the SPS2 lurk on here and can help me figure out possible reasons why a module programming like this would fail, or maybe owners have had this same issue with a module replacement at their dealer. At this point I would appreciate ANY advice!

Welcome to the Forum from NH.

Lots of knowledgeable folks here who freely share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. Knowledge is power.

I hope that you will become a participating member in the Forum's discussions.

I cannot personally assist you with your issue, but other members of this Forum much more knowledgeable than me in this area will chime in.

I have to say, though, if they've had it for 11 weeks, and have no solution as of now, I don't think that group will ever come up with a solution for you. SPS2 programming is fairly straightforward in most cases, so this is really bizarre.

when the programming is done either successfully or not there is a case number created, that number should be what is being communicated to techline on there backend to see what the problem is. Whoever is doing the progamming needs to call them and provide that number and communicate with techline. There is nothing anybody else can do. you could try another dealer...... you can take the vehicle to ANY gm dealer, doesn't have to be buick.
the process to get it straightened out can take some time but not 11 weeks that I am aware of. sounds like you are being pushed to the back of the line.
go back on Monday morning and be a squeaky wheel. Nothing happens on the weekends as far as tech support.

one thing that could be checked is that all other modules are correct and programmed to the vin, if one is not that could be a cause for a vin mismatch

Get the case number from the dealer and call the tech line yourself. At this time, it should have been elevated to higher level techs. It could be something as simple as the dealer not having the right version of windows, as they should be able to easily correctly a VIN mismatch.

highly doubtful that is a software issue on the dealers end if it was the problem would affect any programming, those updates are pushed out constantly.
a bad cable or connection are more plausible but using another mdi or cable would resolve that or it is something on the vehicle side. lan interference, low battery, etc
