Stupid forum lag, double post. Hey @Shaggy when are you going to fix that? Not today, but replaced the dash over the weekend in the avalanche
What did you replace with? Jy or new?Not today, but replaced the dash over the weekend in the avalanche
Good times there.
What did you replace with? Jy or new?
Bet that was pricey. Dud you get the newest version? Supposedly they're better then the older design. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but not something I want to do daily. Doing it by myself, the hardest part was getting the stupid thing in and out of the truck.
New, GM

Oh yes. I did the one in my Silverado and there wasn’t a YouTube video on the pickups so I didn’t know I needed to drop the steering column.

I would hope so, But you never know.I don’t believe they still sell the old versions. Usually when GM updates a part, even if you order the old part number you get the updated piece.
True, true.I would hope so, But you never know.
425 for a new dash. Damn i hope mine doesn’t crack![]()
I hope not too. Mine had been cracked for a few years. The cracks didn't bother me that much but about a year ago, everything started rattling. The and the blower motor started squeaking. My initial solve for the problem was a 2019 yukon denali. After buying a new truck, I couldn't take myself to get rid of the ol avalanche. New blower motor and new dash, I'm back in business, new yukon to boot.![]()
From what I've read here, 425 is cheap.425 for a new dash. Damn i hope mine doesn’t crack![]()

My buddy works at a body shop so I got it for their cost. $425ish. IDK if its an updated part or not. They just use the vin and it matches the correct part.
Part number is 19331336

They doHa! You should see how much a "new" dash for a 1977 Datsun 280Z costs! Hint: put a "1" in front of that 425, and you're almost there. That's why they make dash covers for them.
Someone needs to do the same for our trucks, as the dash cracking seems to be pretty common. Mine has a small one between the passenger airbag cutout and the windshield. Looking at the install photos, mine would have to get REALLY bad before I'd tackle that project. For now, I'm hoping my reflective sun shield and relatively mild winter temps in SC are enough to keep it from cracking any more.
