Transfer case is in........doesnt want to go into 4Lo everytime. I think this is due to dropping the transfer case onto my shoulder and possibly damaging the servo motor FML. I also installed a new transmission mount while I was at it

Today, was new 4wd switch in the cab, fuel filter, rear diff fill port re-seal, exhaust gasket between the cats and muffler(apparently, the gasket that came with my Magnaflow cats was a cheapo).

Mechanically, the only thing left is the oil pan gaskets and rear main seal! Then new paint and carpet........it will be a new 99 Yukon again!

Re routed my wiring/relay for my fog lights, fix an exhaust rattle (loose O2 sensor), diagnosed they not going into 4Lo as the encoder motor.

2HI, Auto4, 4HI all work as they should, but on a occasion the transfer case will not drop into 4Lo. It went into 4Lo this morning, but not this afternoon. I test drove it this morning went it went into 4Lo, so mechanically there is nothing wrong with the transfer case...yay me, since I rebuilt it.

But the encoder motor did take a hit when I pulled the old transfer case out.......so, yeah. Easy fix at this point.

Great Falls is a wonderful place for young airman assigned to Malmstrom AFB, in my opinion of course. I could relate numerous taies, of course but won't, none would be family safe.

Sir, with all due respect. What are you talking about? I cannot find a post where a Montana airman has posted recently. My post (see above) comes from a grizzled old ACC NCO taking some pics of his Caddy with some fresh bling. Please elaborate with your tales of SAC glories back in the day! I will shield the eyes of the innocent!

Thanks!

You have a very nice Yukon. Keep up the good work!

Clean the throttle body (was really gunked up)
New ac delco iridium plugs
Msd 8.5mm wires
Msd cap and rotor (lots of corrosion in the old one)

For sure none of this had been done in the past, all original stuff.

Was not a lot of fun mounting the msd wire clips. I ended up drilling holes in the tabs that held the stock clips and attaching them with m6 nuts and bolts. I'll add a pic tomorrow. Turned out pretty good i think.

Was not super impressed with the lengths. Some could have been shorter and some longer, the clamps weren't exacly the perfect assortment either but i made it work

Found a 1995 GMC Yukon 2door at the local LKQ. Went and robbed the a pillars, c pillars, right rear panel, and the best part, a new headliner. Oh and a complete column cover, upper and lower and a new spring for my ashtray assembly. Can't wait to get the headliner in sometime soon. Fuel pump/sending unit coming up soon as well.
