Water washes over the hood and onto the windshield!

I have a beater lifted Ford Explorer Sport that I have less then $3k into total that I off road with. If that would have happened in my Explorer I would have still freaked out a little. Let along your big beast, I'm impressed.

That little feller is not something I've seen before and watching him go from walking across the road to that pose when the kids walked up to him was quite entertaining! Still trying to pin down the exact species and make sure he's not a protected species, he was too small to eat but maybe next time!

I didn't think crawfish were protected.

Kind of odd seeing him out of his hole during the day, though. They're a tasty lunch for just about everything bigger than them. When you see a night heron or cow egret 'fishing' in shallow water, that's usually what they're after. We've had hawks drop out of our trees onto them in the yard before.

In Florida there are three variations that are protected. We have a weird looking one in our canals, really long claws, but have not seen these down south here before, probably because I never looked or paid attention!

As for the Egrets, there was a veritable feast going on then! See them out there in the distance? We stopped to shoot this photo where moments before 3 bobwhite quail were running around. About a hundred yards to the left of this photo is where the crawfish encounter happened. Busy place!

I was getting my front windows re-tinted and the car got stuck in neutral. The damn lower gear selector cable bushing broke. Luckily there was a mechanic shop next door he was able to pop it back on to shift it in gear and move it over to his shop. He ordered a new selector cable but won’t be ready until Monday afternoon. Anyone else have this issue before?

Yep, on two different Pontiacs and a PT Cruiser. The part is plastic on all of those cars. Two different Buicks as well many decades ago, that part... yep, plastic too. In each case I had to manually move the selector on the outside of the transmission into the gear desired to get going then set the parking brake and go back under and click it back into park and then make the repairs. PITB.
