Yes definitly need the spare out. All in all about a hour.Getting ready to do the exact same thing on mine. Have the part in my garage. How long did it take you to do? You have to drop the spare to do it, right?

if you take off the bolts that hold the filler tube in place by the gas cap the filler tube can be pulled down and makes it much much easier as the vent tube clips on to the top off the filler tube inside behind the body, then it zip ties in a couple other places also, just cut the ties and put on new ones.Maybe 20 mins to change. Idk about the spare since i dont have one haha. The hardest part was getting the tube up by the gas cap.

Lots of options for lowering with auto ride. You can even keep the auto leveling function in the rear if you choose. Check out my build thread for some info...

I kept the auto leveling system in the back with my 4/6 kit in case I load the truck down with people, luggage, and a trailer.
No service suspension lights on dash... rides great.

Write up?
You have a DIY for this!?
so...just had some really weird shit happen, I went to take my kid to summer camp this morning and I notice as I am driving that the "service suspension system" is on the dic, out of the blue, so I think hmm that's weird the shocks front and rear are pretty new I took care of this in the fall, so I drop the kid off and just do a cursory eye ball off everything looks good so I pull out my little centech code reader it gets nothing must be a system it cant read, so I think well I am close to the dealer that I have a good relationship with maybe they will scan it and tell me if it's a ride height sensor or whatever, I know the service manager pretty well so first we try to see if we can get the pump to kick on by bouncing on the truck etc, nothing... so he whips out a tech2 he keeps behind the counter, plugs it in and every thing imaginable lights up, tpms error, airbag, service stabiltrac, no temp reading on trans, the rpm gauge drops dead, we were both like wow, wth, unplugged it turned the key off and on, plugs tech2 back in same result, unplug tech2 turn key on everything is fine except same message for suspension system. he says it's a communication problem blah, blah, leave it we'll check it out no problem "freebie" well I cant leave it because my backup truck is getting a trans put in so I have nothing to drive in the meantime so I said I will bring it back. I get home hook up my more capable innova 3140g it doesn't read any codes but everything is normal cluster wise and I can read all the live data, fuel pressure, maf, yada yada. so I proceed to check all the level control fuses which are 2/54/58 all are fine, I bleed one rear shock, turn the key and the pump kicks on, fills it up shuts off and the service suspension system error is gone now. no other problems, so I am stumped I think I may go back and have them try another scanner and see what happens. I think my air pump is probably dying I haven't heard it much lately but haven't been paying attention to it either.

I just stood on back bumper and autostarted the truck and the pump didn't come on I weight 217lbs so I would think that would make it come on?

I have a aftermarket viper system installed, when I autostart everything comes on radio, ac, lights etc. but at any rate I have never heard it purge air, I just went out and put the key in and twice in a row it filled with air and then stopped after the second try, I sat there and listened by the pump and it's not purging any air unless it's doing it really slow, could put the hose in some water and see if it makes bubbles I guessI could be wrong but I don't think the pump gets power until the key is actually in the run position just like the radio and other things don't turn on until the key is in.
If the compressor is functioning properly then the compressor should turn on for a few seconds after starting the truck with the key.
After you shut the truck off if you stand near the gas tank filler you should hear the compressor dump a little and stop and dump a little and stop... it will do this multiple times before it stops. It should dump the air everytime the truck is turned off.
so it makes it throw every gizmo crazy? makes the rmp gauge drop to 0?, seems rather strange to meThat normally happens when someone connects the Tech2, powers it up and then starts the truck. Don't ask me how I know!
