Maybe something is out of alignment?

That, or then the compressor is locking up occasionally. I read something about the locking up thing when this all started a couple of weeks ago.

You going to try a new clutch assembly, or replace the entire compressor?

Since I don't want to touch the AC system myself, I'll try take it to the shop tomorrow for another diagnosis and we'll go from there.

But if there's something wrong with the compressor, it's probably better to throw a new one in there and be done with it.

Replacing the clutch assembly is a pita. It is easier and faster AND cheaper to replace the compressor assembly. I just did mine the other day. It took me about 2 hours total and that includes recharging the system.

Tried to swap in the 5100 fronts. Couldn't get the lower spring seat off the old struts due to rust. Anyone else have this problem?

I thought the the lower spring seat was apart of the shock.

Well... Guys at the shop put a new AC belt on and sent the Tahoe out the door. They said the one that shredded had sustained damage already earlier when I had the issue.

Okay... We'll see how long this one will last.

And in other news... Broke the damn hood shock yesterday when I opened the hood. The top of the shock broke away from the hood. Yay... :banghead: Didn't look at it too carefully yet, but hopefully I didn't break something on the hood itself, too.

Damn...mine weren't that bad. I just used a flat head and a hammer and it popped off.
Yep, I could use an arbor press right now. I'm gonna try again tonight with a variety of carp I've dreamed up since yesterday.

Got my 5100s on finally after a cage match with the original shocks. Thanks to @ta07hoe for tips and tricks to get the old spring seat off the shock.

Took a dremel, torch, PB blaster, two pieces of 2x4, a 4 lb hammer, a cinder block (which is in 3 pieces now) and a piece of 1" pipe.

I'll get pics soon but is almost 2 a.m. and I need a friggin shower.

There is a rubber strip between it and the bumper cover. I don't think it will hurt the paint.

jacked the ol Tahoe up to see if anything was dragging. seems like the truck was under powered. But i think i seemed to find the problem the i grabbed the intake and it wasn't connected at the box.

Fixed my fog light connections last night. Now on to choosing an amber LED that projects a good beam of light.
