How was it to drive? Manual steering, brakes?
It was freakin' awesome, man! I'm still smiling from ear to ear when I think about it this morning :) Manual brakes, steering, 3 on the tree, inline 6, single barrel carb,....The whole shebang of a restore old farm truck. I talked to the old man for quite a while (he's actually friends with my parents) and he's also building a 48 GMC that's being done right now. It was truly a memorable experience.

I heard those 3 on the trees aren't easy to drive.

It was definitely different, but wasn't too bad. I did kill it once and one time I did accidentally hit reverse trying to go from 1st to 2nd but other than that wasn't bad and he was cool with my missteps LOL I warned him after he offered to let me drive that I'd driven manual transmissions a lot in my time but never a 3 on the tree and he was fine with that so he knew what he was getting in to prior to letting me slide behind the wheel
