New ACDelco calipers are cheap, might as well get new so you know they're going to last. Never know what kind of shape the junkyard ones are in.
That's a good point, although calipers are pretty simple to rebuild. Might be better to just buy new.

That`s a good price, When i did the upgrade i spent just over $500 for four rotors new calipers pads and SS lines up front.

So this is a worthwhile upgrade? My front brakes started grinding.
yes

most of these vehicles at this point should probably have their calipers and rotors changed anyways. Might as well go for a bigger setup. No real cost difference. If you have access to junkyard parts even better.

i gota do this asap, i been looking for a reasonable answer , because i really didnt want to pay 3k for wilwood setup . had my tahoe for about a year brought it with 22 esky wheels and the stopping power always suck!!!
hopefully this will improve it .

Building my list. 2 questions.

1.
I have 2006 Z71 w/ stabilitrack. Can anyone confirm that I need the 6 line set vs the 5? My research shows Goodridge 14196 vs. 14175.

2.
Anyone know the difference between the Power Stop s4918 and s4918A?

My research shows the same and the Goodridge 14196 is in my shopping cart.

If anyone would like to weigh in, I am going back and forth between which severe duty rotors to go with for the front and rear. I mostly use my Yukon for towing, so I am interested in what while have the best performance with a load over time.

These are my current contenders:

Is it worth double the price for slotted rotors? I don't want to cheap out over $200, but if I can save it to put elsewhere in the Yukon I'd be happy to.

For the pads I am planning to go with the Bendix Fleet Metlok Semi-Metallic sets for the front and rear over regardless of which rotors I end up with. I'm not too concerned with the potential for brake dust from the semi-metalic in favor of the grip over ceramic pads.

Slotted rotors are not worth double the price, unless you are autocrossing or something there is no reason for it really. It actually removes contact area (which is why you want bigger rotors ... More contact) and gives rocks a place to get lodged. A lot of people like the look and race cars use tbem so they must be good... They are for people that get their rotors red hot on the track with sticky tires and super aggressive pads not for street cars.

after reading this whole thread, I've come to a very clear conclusion.. I need to put on ss lines...

I replaced the front and rear system(calipers,pads, and rotors) when i first bought it and never thought of replacing 175k mile lines...i know stainless lines on a race motorcycle make a huge difference.

found goodridge 14175 g stop 5 line kit for $122, will put it on my Christmas list (which is speed engineering headers, eastern cats, these ss lines, and top it off with BB tune next spring, maybe even have the extra dough for the autocal by then)

im also trying to work a guy down on a stainless onki brush gaurd... so sweet.

The time has come, front brakes are almost down to the rivets.

Looking at this Powerstop kit from RockAuto, everything is included for $338 after core charges:

Another option, without going to the NNBS brakes, would be to put on some EBC dimpled and slotted rotors, and Greenstuff pads, still in boxes for $200 locally on Craigslist.

i found local guy who is selling his front rotor.
he said it fits to 2009+ tahoe.

I would say don't but Advance Auto Parts stuff because it looks like they don't know what fits what. I looked and their application guide for those rotors is wrong, they should all be the same for 2007-2014. If you want to be safe, go with the part numbers mentioned earlier in this post.
