RPMs look great at cruise and the lift looks killer on it. Well done! Now just to clean up the body a little and its done. Headlight update and finish cleaning molding removal along with pin stripe.

Im going to paint it before long, the paint is getting pretty rough.. I'm planning a pod/color update with the headlights.. it'll all be under this thread fo sho..

Jesus man. Nice job! Total motivation for mine. Getting the funds together now for it. Props for doin the damn thing on your own too. We all take that much more pride in our stuff if we do it on our own.

So, I spent more on this crap than the trucks worth.

I have a 2001 Yukon that I purchased 7 years ago. I bought it with 170k and now have 318k, been a good truck needless to say(replaced transmission 10k m ago).

These 4:56's cost as much as the lift after labor and master bearing kit.. (The only thing I'll be outsourcing)

Came across some pictures from regearin my hoe with 5.13's. Figured I'd share them.

Had to use half my floor jack handle bolted to my flange and tied to the control arm while I used the other half as a cheater pipe on a ratchet to get enough leverage to preload the damn thing

The backlash specs are .003-.010. (Preferred is .005-.007) I ended up with a backlash reading of .0056. Can't get much better than that!

That's making me regret paying to have mine done.. There isn't much I will let anyone else do on any of my vehicles.. I'm a machinist so I have all the indicators that would be needed.... Maybe next time

Yeah nothin you couldn't handle then and hell you've got all the fun toys too bein a machinist! When you regear to anything 4.56 and bigger I believe it is you have to modify your axle cross pin to slide by the ring gear teeth unless you buy a special one.

Great work you did there Jd. Man, I'm about to let my 04 kon go (bought an 15 burb) and may can help you out with the headlights. Have a set of retrofitted Denali lights and trust me, you would LOVE that light output.
Maybe 01Konvict is willing to answer any questions you may have about them. He build them a while back. I love em and would hate to see them go across the border or who knows.!
gl with all.

The black halos were a straight waste of money, they are terrible at night

Do you want to sell them? Thinkin the black halos will look dope on my 58u sandalwood metallic paint.

What's your number? Something low...
Are the lights LED, requiring any extra parts or nutty wiring? I need plug&play.

Mostly plug & play. those are HID's not led. Gotta give Jd a chance to reply first. I paid $428 used for the setup, that gives you an ruff idea.
Now, let's not hijack his threat no more.

Whoever buys the lights from @Maic is getting a great set. OEM GM Denali headlight housings with Morimoto mini H1 with older style restrictor plate for more foreground lighting. This helps with lifted trucks over distance throw for cars. They did have silverstar highs in them and assume there still burning. The lows were 35 watt ballasts 5k xb35 bulbs. The entire thing is pretty much plug and play with exception of grounding low beam so the bixenon function works keeping HIDs on while high beam halogen kick on. The output is truly great!

I got a question for you guys, if you use 17's on 33's or 35's instead of 20's with 33's or 35's would you still need to change the gears ?

Yes. Rim diameter doesn't play a part in that equation. It's all about outside tire diameter when it comes to gear ratio.

The profile of the tire will effect ride quality.

6in suspension 3in body.

I've since added brackets to tuck my torsion bars back inside the frame. Those torsion bars were an eyesore let alone the crossmember would leave you high centered...
Looks good. I really like the ranch hand for the Tahoe

I agree the lines from the Ranch Hand match up great with these trucks. Can't say the same for the nnbs or the cat eye front ends.

I had to fabricate my own brackets to be able to remount it on my hoe after the body lift though. There was short period that I didn't have it on and the thing just looked naked without it lol
