What I've Done To My Yukon Denali The Past 18 Months

Bought our 2007 in Oct of 2018 w/130k miles, used car lot, no mx records for $10,500 including TTL. I did all of the following because we LOVE the way it drives/rides, and we need it to be reliable transportation when making the 1k mile drive ea way between our homes. We now have 157k miles on it. I've done 100% of the labor.

So we have about $14k in it now. The only deferred mx problems that are the rear auto leveling shocks and compressor - $550. They've been bad since we purchased the vehicle, but since we don't tow or carry a bunch of people in it, still rides like a dream.

I forgot - I did a complete rear brake job last July. Replaced the calipers, rotors, hoses, and pads. $372. I have edited my original post here to reflect this.

What I didn't include, was that I've already purchased all the parts for a complete front brake job. Found a sale I couldn't pass up. But for now, the fronts have some life left in them.

Did you use the Hayden cooler for the tranny or engine oil?
If it was used for the engine did you run 3/8 line for the cooler, because I was under the impression that the stock lines were 1/2?

I used this Hayden cooler for an engine oil cooler and plumbed it with #6(3/8" equivalent) hose. I would have plumbed it with #4(1/4" equivalent) but the Hayden comes with 3/8" nipples. This vehicle did not come from the factory with an oil cooler. My engine oil bypass filter is the restriction in this circuit, not the size of the hose. Bypass filters do great job of filtering, but the tradeoff is they are restrictive. That is why I went with the small Hayden. The flow rate(gph) thru this circuit(cooler, oil tank, bypass) isn't high, so the small cooler should be adequate. My logic is "a little oil cooling is better than no oil cooling at all".

Our Yukon came from the factory with a trans cooler, rpo code KNP. It's not very big. If I towed, I would put a larger trans cooler on it.
