Still amazed that some shops want, and seem to get, $200+ to change these belts.

$200+?!

$50 for belts, 3/8 wrench, 15mm socket, 10min of your time.

10-4

A local shop gave my truck a once-over while doing other work, then quoted me $210 to supply & install new belts. I laughed out loud, bought both belts from RockAuto.com for under $45, then installed them myself in 10 minutes.

How's your shocks on your lift gate if you open manually? To test, turn your rocker switch off on the over head consol.

I'm pretty ******* manly and strong, so the shocks don't seem to have much resistance. I don't know what's normal. I plan on replacing them anyways. If that don't fix it then I'll eBay a new actuator.

I know my lift gate wouldn't open when the shocks were bad. But mine wasn't making the same sounds yours is.

Temp tags expire tomorrow. I got the title today. The whole getting title from the dealer has been a ******* ordeal. This dealer mainly finances cheap cars so never really has to have a title ready for a cash buyer.

Still it took a whole goddamn month.

I've heard of some folks not getting their title for MONTHS by dealing with dealers like that. I never buy a used vehicle without walking away with a title at the same time just because of that but glad that you got yours just in the nick of time. :waytogo:

I learned a lesson. Luckily va has some good laws requiring new temp tags until you get the title.

Sorry for the mundane. I'll get to engine, cams and turbos when I have a solid, comfortable platform.

New mats!

Floor mats win!! The little things count and make a big difference. Been doing the same thing myself. Sure it's not a cam and turbo, but who wants to drive a turd that looks like a turd? Don't think anybody on here does. Efforts applauded.

Water pools and rusts the gate.

I'm thinking of drilling a couple holes for drainage in the far corners of the bumper cover. I felt behind and it would just drain straight to the ground. Too crazy?

Seems logical to me. Make them small enough holes and no one would notice and the cover is just plastic so it's not like you'd be creating a new place for the vehicle to rust

Lights were dimming when the fans were kicking on. Alternator checked out ok. Battery was 5+ years old.

I picked up an AGM battery. People are religious about battery manufacturers. As far as I can see is that there are few makers and many names. I find a local place and get the biggest damn battery.
