Finished my coolant system rebuild today. Today I put in a new water pump, coolant temp sensor, coolant gauge sender, upper and lower radiator hose. Last week I put in a new radiator.
I also got rid of that stupid heater hose quick connect. I used a 1/2" to 3/4" brass hose barb with a short piece of 5/8" heater hose.
The truck used to get to 215+ almost all the time I never saw the gauge under 210 now it barely gets over 180
It was a long day it wasn't easy! I couldn't get the fan clutch off because it would spin the water pump shaft So I had to unbolt the waterpump with the clucth fan on it. I took the back off the old water pump and put a socket inbetween the impellers then knocked the fan clutch loose.
And to end the day the engine bay swallowed one of my 10mm wrenches. It's in the front end frame under the headlight sowewhere under that box that you can store oil in. I looked everywhere with a flash light and can't find it. The truck was hungry I guess
