Hi, I was looking for some info. from amsoil.com when I found two types of 2017 Tahoe engines. What is the difference between them? And, how can I know which one is mine?
One engine can use E85 gas and the other can't. You can tell by VIN. Here's one way to decode your VIN: https://chevroletforum.com/forum/vindecoder.php It should show you something like this: View attachment 271291
Thanks, but I could not find the attachment, it says: "You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action."
Weird.. its just supposed to be a picture. Not sure why it isn't working. Here's the text. See Fuel Type section: Engine & Powertrain Type 8 Cylinder Engine Displacement L/CI 5.3/325 Fuel Type Flex Fuel Capability Horsepower 320.0 @ 5400 Fuel Economy 15.0 City / 21.0 Highway MPG Fuel Capacity 26.0 gal Net Torque 348.0 @ 4400
the rating is dictated by the fuel selection...the flex motors have the higher rating when running the E85.
