howdy! i'm the proud new owner of a 2009 tahoe ltz. it has the bose system, navi, and rear entertainment system.

i'm trying to figure out where i can mount my amplifier for the subs i have... i like keeping a clean or stealth look, so i'd like for it to be hidden from view for the most part. i thought about mounting it underneath one of the middle row captain's chairs, but the amp i have is too tall for that. from watching youtube vids of the arlington assembly plant, i believe that part of the a/c is mounted behind the rear right panel beneath the window.... is there room behind the rear left panel? my truck has the power lift gate as well if that makes a difference...

the amp is a rockford fosgate 360a2 for reference. i'd hate to have to mount the amp to the box... i'd like to be able to quickly disconnect and remove the box from behind the third row when i need the extra room.

thoughts/ideas?

thanks in advance!!!

what about getting rid of the amp, and getting a self contained powered sub? Where are your subs, and enclosure now?

i had thought about going that route... but i've got 2 jl 12's and a sealed box. i built this sealed box and a ported box for these subs that i had in my last car, and the sealed box fits perfectly in the tahoe.

i've had these same subs and amp for years, and they haven't let me down yet. i figured i'd try and make these work until i blow a coil or an amp and then change them all out.

by having the amp hidden, it was a nice feature to just disconnect the speaker wires at the box and gain some cargo room when needed.

so if i were to look at a smaller chassis amp to fit under the middle captains chair, any recommendations?

only caveat is that my subs are jl 12w3v2 with dual 6 ohm coils. each sub is rated at 300w continuous power handling.

....and yes, i know that i can either run them as a 6 ohm load or a 1.5 ohm load... silly error when i was younger :emotions122: i planned on running three 12's at one point, but that never came to fruition.

thanks again for your input! :)

another thought i just had.... if i'm adding 2 12's, then i don't need the sub in the center console, right?

wonder if my amp fits in the center console if i took the stock sub out.... need to do some investigating this weekend.

Kicker IX5001, small chassis, and will do 600 watts into a 2 ohm load. real small chassis..
